8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur kid started here during the peak of the pandemic, and it turned out way better than I could have ever hoped for! Mrs Kollaard was absolutely phenomenal! Despite it being full remote, she was able to develop a strong class room community and our kid made great progress. With initial misgivings about remote learning - we were pleasantly surprised by how engaged our kid was throughout the year. She would be in her room, online by herself through the full school hours, and would later have SO much to say about all the activities and their discussions. It was way more enriching for her than I could have imagined with an on-line setting. She genuinely developed strong relations with her classmates and her teacher - so much so that towards the last day, they were a lot of emotions/tears all around that it was over!We have since moved, but the effect of the boost from that one year at Stratton is still visible a year later in (relatively) normal class room setting. The lesson plans, the daily online interactions, the occasional in-person meet at the playground - you could see the all round effort in making the best of a really tough situation. Principal Hannah was always visible and made it a point to interact with parents when we would go to get our weekly supplies. The communications from the office was prompt, clear and transparent. Couldnt have asked for more. We had a great year at Stratton despite it being the most challenging year for any school!Other Review4y ago3 Reviews - Ottoson Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child truly enjoys this school and has made leaps and bounds with the help of staff after returning to full-time instruction. Peirce, along with all of Arlington Public Schools, is growing. The new Principal has made a difference and the town has hired an Assistant Principal which should keep the school on good footing as it expands. In the next 2-3 years, K-5 will have 3 classes each. We did have one of the new teachers and it was an excellent experience. We have been happy with the support we were given for the subjects our child needed help in and by the end of the year they were where they should be. We look forward to another great year next year.Parent Review5y ago33 Reviews - Gibbs School

"Winchester is the cutest town, perfect for families. There is Town Say, and Enka, and everything is very family oriented. We even have great pubs/restaurants as well as sub shops, Greek food, nail salons, anything you could want in a home town!"

"Very family oriented. Not a great neighborhood if you don’t have children. Great, easy commute into the city. Not enough good restaurants that aren’t overpriced though. "

"Very safe neighborhood.there are often summer events on the common. Teenagers can take train into Boston area fairly easily as there are two stops within Winchester. Fells is a great place for summer walks. "

"Family community built around three streets that form a circle that only has traffic of residents. The area borders the Town of Winchester forest that is great for walks and snow shoeing in winter. All homes are large and attract families were children can safely play and bike in the neighborhood. Many homes have residents who grow up in the neighborhood as children and returned to raise their families. A short walk 4/10 of a mile to train station for those who work in Boston a trip that takes 12 minutes with only one stop. Schools in Winchester are among the best in Massachusetts, a primary attraction to the Town. The Town center is only one mile away and has an addition train station there as well. The Mystic lakes are just beyond the train station with a Town beach and boating opportunities. The Town also borders a 2500 acre forest known as the Fells consisting of the Town water supply and miles of hiking or mountain biking."
