"Crime rate, school distance, distance to work, public transportation, hoa fees, square feet for home, "
  • Trulia User
"North Newark, NJ aka Forest Hill, has very convenient access to reliable bus services and light rail services very close by to my residence. I walked 1 1/2 small streets to get to the bus stop to Newark Penn Station and connect to the PATH train to NYC. The bus cost $1.20 and PATH train was also inexpensive in comparison to driving a car, paying tolls, paying parking etc."
  • Trulia User
"Old established homes, long term homeowners and young homeowners. Near the biggest park in NJ WITH cherry Blossoms "
  • Alesha R.
"Everyone is pleasant, and peaceful for the most part. I’ve never had any issues or have any complaints. I like my neighborhood. "
  • Suendosm
"If you can avoid living here, do. There’s currently a lot of drug sales/activity, trash filled sidewalks with syringe covers, drug dealers that sit on your car and mice infestations. "
  • Suendosm
"This is an Unsafe area with high crime such as drug dealing and shootings m. If you can avoid living here please do. The police seen short handed due to there being so much crime in all parts of the city."
  • Suendosm
"Please be very careful about where you move in Newark. The differences vary, block by block. My family has not had the most pleasant experience living here. It’s crime ridden with constant drug activity, shootings and criminals that disregard the neighborhood and neighbors. They litter and sit on people’s cars. We have lived here for a year and cannot wait to move out of here. "
  • Xxbalisticxx
"I live in this neighborhood for 10 years and it ok but not best of Newark still o lot crime to solve "
  • Suendosm
"This neighborhood is very dangerous and crime ridden. There is minimal policing. There is constant drug dealing and shootings. Stay far, far away if you can. "
  • Aggayu S
"Diversified neighborhood. Its a hop, skip and a jump to many stores, restaurants, Nj Transit as well as a light rail. Convenient to local hospitals, fire and police stations. Close to many academic public and private schools. Neighborhood homeowners take pride in their homes."
  • David.irizarry55
"There are a lot of families in the area and it's close to landmarks such as the Sacred Heart Cathedral and Branch Brook Park. Also there's a roller rink in the park to keep kids off the street and out of harms way..."
