Sunnyside high school has done a complete 180 degree turn from what it was 20yrs ago. The high school is probably the best high school to send your child in the lower Valley. Great teachers, staff, and administrators.

This school deserves it's Great School's rating of 2. The quality of education is low. Teachers seem to have given up on these kids. The one exception was my son's L.A. teacher, who really seemed to care and to know how to reach the kids. But mostly, my son's experience here was negative. Behavior problems are very common. This school scares me. There is lots of gang activity and there have been threats to the safety of the kids attending. I removed my son due to these concerns, and when he tried an online public school, found that he was not prepared for the rigor of the academics. We will be moving to an area with better schools.

I have been impressed by the quality of reading instruction in this school. The remedial program for kids with learning disabilities is also very effective. The math curriculum is very challenging, but the teaching quality is not there in many cases, so many kids are frustrated by the difficulty of the curriculum. Unfortunately, teachers here are forced to teach to standardized tests, which greatly diminishes their ability to provide instruction in areas other than reading and math. I would love to see more emphasis on science and social studies. Student behavior problems are very prevalent, and a real concern to those of us who desire a wholesome learning environment for our kids.

Hoy me llamaron que levantara mi niño por qué tenía temperatura, llego ala oficina por él me lo entregan y luego noto que mi niño está orinado todo su pantalón , recalcando que ellos tienen ropa extra del niño por si una accidente así pasa, mi niño hecho del baño por que una estudiante duró mucho en el baño y ya no pudo aguantar así lo tuvieron hasta que yo llegue por el, no le ayudaron ni nada así lo miraron y así lo dejaron hasta que llegue por el, esto no es aceptable como no pueden tener cuidado con los niños más aún cuando todavía son pequeños . Y todavía aún escuchando que el niño me decía no dijieron nada.Deberían de poner más atención a nuestros niños, si no tienen vocación que hacen ahí.Recalcando que A mi niño lo tenían en enfermería quién sabe desde qué hora en esa condición .
