The bright spot of this school is the families. The parents are involved and the kids are kind. The 'experienced' teachers are jaded and mean. I witnessed teachers SCREAM at kids, or yell at them with their finger pointed an inch from their face; and this was TK and Kinder. I volunteered monthly, and the teachers were cruel to these kids every time. These teachers also seemed to fall a bit short on the actual teaching. They barely interacted with the kids during lessons, relying heavily on tech to teach for them. They don't even check in on the kids during these lessons. Ms Brittany is the young, energetic, empathic outlier. She is amazing. My child had her in the GenEd / SPED blended class, but she is primarily the SPED teacher. The families with SPED kids say she is great and rave about her.

The librarian did not help me with my chromebook

Sierra Madre Middle School is a beautiful school in a great neighborhood with super kids and teachers! The academics are strong, and the school offers a great mix of enrichment opportunities—from drama and music to Mandarin and math —that help kids explore their interests and talents.Parents are actively involved, and it’s clear that everyone works together to make the school a positive place for learning and growth.Sierra Madre Middle School is an excellent choice for families looking for a well-rounded education and at a safe, inclusive, supported school.
