Despite serving a community with many Hispanic and Spanish-speaking students and families, there appears to be a lack of cultural competency among some staff members.some staff members maintain public social media presences that include political content. While individuals are entitled to personal views, such activity can raise concerns about professionalism and its impact on trust and inclusion within a diverse school community.There are also concerns regarding how students are treated. At times, students who struggle academically or need additional support are spoken to in a dismissive or condescending manner. There have been observations of students being laughed at or discussed disrespectfully by adults, including students receiving special education services. These behaviors undermine student dignity and are inconsistent with best practices in education.Overall, the school would benefit from stronger leadership oversight, clearer expectations for professional conduct, and sustained training in cultural competency, equity, and inclusive practices to ensure a respectful and supportive environment for both students and staff.
