7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf anyone is thinking of sending your kids here, don’t. I currently have a family member attending this school, and I have formerly attended her myself. The teachers and administration allow students to bully others, fight, and all without any repercussions whatsoever. Recently there was an incident where a female special education student was pushed into a brick wall by a male student of the name Matthew Lopez, the female student hit her head, which caused her to have a seizure. To make this incident even worse, the teachers and administration allowed this to happen, and are attempting to cover it up by not mentioning it to neither parents nor students. We reached out in writing with urgent concerns about our autistic son’s safety and the risk of retaliation as he returns to school. Despite referencing multiple ongoing state and federal complaints and clearly requesting protections, the district (FJUHSD) has not responded to us at all.Our son has a diagnosed disability and a history of trauma due to previous profiling and law enforcement involvement. We submitted detailed written concerns to school and district leaders — not only about disability discrimination, but also about emotional safety and the need for non-retaliation commitments. As of today, we’ve received no written response from anyone at the district.We’ve now filed formal complaints with:•The Office for Civil Rights (OCR)•The California Department of Education (CDE)•The Student Privacy Policy Office (SPPO)This silence, especially with school starting soon, is not just frustrating — it’s dangerous. Families with children who require special education, mental health supports, or legal accommodations should be aware that requests for basic protections may be ignored. If your child has a disability, I urge you to be cautious and ask tough questions before enrolling at Sunny Hills High School.Parent Review1mo ago
