4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCross Street school is an excellant school. The principal is very involved and knows all of the children. They also have Mr Wilson who deals with any issues going on with the kids. He is very fair and deals in a timely manner with all the issues going on with the kids. They also have a fantastic social worker Mrs Sands, I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. All of the teacher are also great. The only thing lacking is after school programs. If this school had this I would rate this school a 10++Other Review10y ago - Naugatuck High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo begin with, this school has been so supportive of my daughter and has helped her to grow academically and socially amongst her teachers and peers. The diversity and inclusion of the school population, has created a unique culture that’s helped to enrich the understanding of different backgrounds, and what it means to be human. If you need help, I’m glad that the community of NHS is there for one another, especially during the uncertain times that we’re in. Aesthetically, the school campus is beautiful, with many options of programs that students can choose from. Communicating with the staff has always been so easy, as they are readily available via email, phone call or through the ParentSquare app. I’ve never felt at ease knowing that my daughter is safe, and as a parent, you really need that peace of mind. I would recommend this school to anyone who’s looking for the best option for their kids. To add, the evolution of the board of education, it’s administration and superintendent, all play a factor in the improvement and quality of what’s planned out and executed, for the benefit of our future leaders. There’s nothing more important than a teacher who can make a huge impact on a student, whether through big or small actions. Thank you NHS!Parent Review2y ago - Maple Hill School

"Everyone in the neighborhood is friendly. For the most part people keep to themselves but nobody is a straight up mean person or anything. I see dogs being walked all the time, there are street lights and sidewalks and some side streets that aren’t very busy. It is a lil billy in certain spots which is annoying to climb but there’s a small park by the river right before the route 8 S entrance by exit 27! Ideal for people on a budget looking for a safe neighborhood. "
