I absolutely love this elementary school! My daughter has been in attendance for 2 years now, and from teachers, to front office staff, to administration and the principal Mrs. Quarles-Gaston, I have nothing but positive things to say. My daughter loves all of her teachers, the principal Mrs. Gaston is a classy, kind, caring, and efficient lady. She’s truly a gem. The administrator Mr. Jack Hamilton is absolutely wonderful, funny, and kind. The coach of the children, lovingly dubbed coach “Co” is adored by my daughter and other students. It’s a really great school. The curriculum is Duval County approved, but the teachers do the best they can with that disaster. I can’t say enough good things about the principal, she has been so empathetic & efficient with my daughter and anything with which I have needed assistance. Short of private, or Montessori, there is nowhere else I would feel more comfortable sending my child for her elementary education. (I’m leaving a neutral response regarding the special needs program at the school because I do not have any experience in that program)

As a parent of two alumni, I can attest that conflicts and substance abuse issues are inevitable; do not assume that a school with nearly three thousand students will be immune to these challenges. Nonetheless, the manner in which they are addressed is of utmost importance. As your child enrolls in this institution, ensure their participation in various programs offered, such as JROTC, culinary arts, and Dual Enrollment. It is essential to remember that your child continues to require guidance, and parents along with school staff collaborate to support the students' best interests.

I recommend not to apply for this school for future middle schoolers, because the teaching here is very harsh, gives too much work, and doesn't do much for anti-bullying. I am a fellow student here and a specific teacher is making me want to get homeschooled because he gives us way too much work (138 assignments) and he yells at us for no reason. My fellow classmate asked the teacher a question and the teacher just started arguing with her for 30 minutes straight. So if you want to apply your kid here I recommend not to.
