2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI rated the security/safety so low only because they do not have any parameters to make sure the students aren't bringing in weapons. I would offer a higher rating if the teaching staff were higher. The school district has a very diverse group of students; from White to African American, LatinX, and some Asian ethnicities. However, the teaching staff is entirely all white, with one Black Female teacher and a Latin Teacher who doesn't teach Spanish. It is so unfortunate that the school is so diverse but the teaching staff do not represent the diversity in their staff. Students of color need to see themselves in professional, upwardly mobile roles in order to believe in they can make it and become somebody. If they only see white people in professional roles then they begin to diminish their self-belief. There have been 2 black males the students have been exposed to over the years and one of them was a janitor. The maintenance worker serves an integral role in schools, however, African Americans can do more than that.Additionally, some of the staff can't relate to the students and vice versa. Teaching an African American male is different than teaching any other type of student, and that has been studied and factually founded. African American females need to relate to someone as they are becoming women in this world of white supremacy. Lastly, this school district needs to begin doing some work around social justice and having some important "Courageous Conversations," specifically in terms of why they won't hire people of color, namely black people, especially since approximately 40% of their student body is Black.Parent Review5mo ago - Woodhaven High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll of my children since my 44 year daughter was in kindergarten have gone to gudith. I have met alot of fabulous teachers there over the years. Now my grandchildren go there and my grandson is in kindergarten. His teacher is the most horrible teacher gudith has ever had. She is discriminating against my grandson who has feeding issues. She is making a mockery of him on social media and from the comments that others are making there about how wonderful she is gives me the notion she is talking about the subject to others when on this should be a private matter. Very unprofessional and I don't see how she can be allowed to continue to teach. Gudith has so gone down hill. So sad.Other Review1y ago - Brownstown Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe leadership at this school is not responsive to following up with parents. I've been trying to have me child, who's been diagnosed with ADD, enrolled in the IEP (Individual Education Program) and after several attempts the Vice Principal and Principal will not return my emails or phone calls. When I first met with the Vice Principal, she recommend increasing medication and said she would follow up with the teachers & provide me updates via email. I was not provided updates in any form from the leadership . Very disappointed in this school. I'm going to look for a school that takes better care of their students with special needs and not just recommend more medication.Parent Review9y ago - Check out schools near 17033 Central St.

Pretty maintained. Safe as any other. Close to everything yet still not right into the city. I love this area. In Belleville now. Kids and I are looking to buy closer that way."
