4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIve gone to this school for freshman, sophomore, and senior year. I didn't realize how terrible it was until i went somewhere else junior year. To start off, in my freshman and sophomore year i had bone surgery on my knee and ankle issues. This school has 8 buildings and two campuss and I had to walk back and forth across campus between every class. I would get in trouble for being trady since i didnt have enough time to walk to my classes. My ankle got worse to the point i needed weekly physical therapy before possible surgery but the school threatened us with truancy after 4 weeks even though they had doctors note and i was straight As in all classes. Since i couldn't complete physical therapy insurance wouldn't let my get surgery and to this day, 4 yrs later, i still have ankle pain but cannot get help or else the school threatens truancy It physically hurts me to walk, i was given PE and even while wearing a boot i would get points off for not participating. This school is big on shaming students, bot enough credits, poor grades, you name it. They hold assemblys just saying how students aren't doing enough for themselves but i dont think they've offered any decent help, they're especially big on attendance and to show up to school "even if you dont feel that great you have to make the effort to show up" The Health class was a joke, the teacher skipped out on days that had to do with any reproductive system and most days we just joined the PE class instead. This year there is actually only a verrry small number of electives. Throughout highschool i have bot been put in a single elective until senior year and now there's no teachers teaching elective classes. I have had zero say in any of my classes or my schedule, they say i dont have a choice. I got put into a online Honors II language class, 3weeks late into the semester, i failed the first unit since i just wasn't in the class for it and to tol it off the first language class i had was over 2 years ago but they just didn't want to put me in a second until now. I didn't even know it was a honors course or that it was online, or even that i was being put into it. There's almost no locks on the bathroom stalls and some have big gaps where you can see whoever is on the pot. Last year there were constant fights, everyday there were multiple fights mostly resulted from the lack of teacher supervision during class change in the bridge. There's so much more but i have limited words, in summary; TERRIBLEStudent Review5mo ago - South Doyle Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers, staff, and the principal know my children and our community. It is like having my children in a private school without the cost. The teacher, staff, and principal really care the children. Everyone here goes above and beyond to help the students to be the best they can be. I wish I had attended this school and I wish all schools could be like this one.Parent Review12y ago - Check out schools near 1703 Bays Mountain Rd.

"The city as a whole has becoming increasingly “sketchy” throughout. It still has good parts but even those areas are not as good as what they were 8 years ago. I’d suggest doing some strong research."

"Someone tried to break into our house once while we were home. And raccoons tear up our garbage bins every week. Lots of homeless people waking around and speeding cars "

"We live on the water and we get to see a lot of boats/yachts go by. We are also close to campus so there is still a youthful vibe to the neighborhood. Knoxville has some of the best sunsets around, and being so close to downtown has made it easy to socialize. I would recommend better access to public transportation, but aside from that, this is a lovely place to live."
