8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat School! Both my kids graduated from PVHS and did the full IB program which many schools don't offer. They were involved with many different extra curricular activities and were on various sports teams all through their four years. For the most part, we were very impressed with their teachers. Yes, there were a couple who we didn't like all that much, but in general our children received a great education that prepared them for college. Both kids were accepted into wonderful colleges. There were also a handful of wonderful families that are the backbone to supporting Sports Boosters, Music Boosters etc.. I greatly respect the principal there and the guidance department is top notch. To read some of the negative comments makes me wonder if my children went to the same school, but my mom always told me that people generally will complain 10x's more than they will give a compliment. There are things that the school needs like a new stadium, better soccer fields a new state of the art pool etc., but all in all our kids achieved great things while there and I attribute that to the friends they made, the teachers they had and the community they were surrounded by.Parent Review9y ago - Rosedale Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRosedale is amazing. I don't know why the whole of Chico doesn't send their children there. My son started in Kindergarden so I'm not sure about starting in later grades but starting in Kindergarden all the children work and learn together. I saw how they built a strong foundation in reading in Spanish and it translated to English almost instantly. All of a sudden my son was reading in English too- incredible. The teachers are caring and helpful. They have high expectations that are easily met by the students. I think sometimes we underestimate what our children can do. They have tutors if needed. My son went to school here K-2 and then we had to move. The main thing we miss about Chico is Rosedale- I wish I could find a school like this where we live now. We miss the teachers, friends, activities and learning too. I highly recommend this school!!!! Love you Rosedale!Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 1675 Manzanita Ave #34.

"Area is very pet friendly. Lots of people walking their dogs but not too much foot traffic. Night walks not suggested because of low visibility and some high vehicle traffic by main roads"

"Cars drive quickly through the neighborhood. So kids need to watch out. The neighborhood feels like the 50’s in how close ours neighbors our. There is a sense of community that it very hard to find. You could leave your front door unlocked and most likely no one would try to get in. It feels safe"
