"Everything is within walking distance or even a short drive. You are far away from Bourbon street that you feel safe but close enough to walk to the action if you want. "
    • Victoria.bauer
"My commute is outside of New Orleans, about 30 minutes. It’s definitely easy because I go the opposite direction of traffic!"
    • Alena C.
"Super easy commute anywhere in the city. Great location for Mardi Gras. Easy walk home and to Downtown. "
    • Agutier96
"Great quiet neighborhood. Great park for walking dogs. Some issues with upkeep of said facilities, however this could be fixed with a simple petition to improve them."
    • Jake G.
"Very engaging part of the city to live in! Convenient to the quarter, warehouse district, and uptown areas."
    • Jennifer T.
"Neighborly atmosphere among most people, except for the uber bourgeois wanna be residents or those who are lucky in life, judgers &/or shameers. "
    • ana65
"Sports activities in the parks, lush shady parks, our neighborhood was part of New Orleans from the beginning, music and art festivals, mardi gras parades stage in front of our house, lots of amazing restaurants in walking distance."
    • Grangerdoug
"Just 2 minutes from the expressway, can be anywhere in town within 15 minutes. Takes me 10 minutes to get to Metairie in the morning. "
    • Micaiah
"Nice area , people in area are friendly and happy to be in New Orleans . Noice at time but good nice like a second line band or school band practicing for a parade, or maybe is and elderly lady birth day and you hear the blues or rebirth brass band playing in her speaker . This good neighbor noice and we love it . "

"It has a small village feel, mojos, parks, great food, and an eclectic, stew of artists, musicians and chefs. Walking distance to the Quarter and street cars. Great parade route( magazine street) walk to stadiums and museums. Great night life and wonderful caring neighbors"
    • Diane W.
"I've lived in the area for several years and love it. The historic area has had a major upgrade since I've been here, a renaissance that is continuing as we speak. Close to everything - The Magazine St. corridor, St. Charles Ave, the river, the Superdome, the Warehouse district and French Quarter... as well as the main roads in and out of the city..."
    • scrower
"We loved living in this neighborhood -- there are tons of absolutely fantastic restaurants, shops and entertainment all within walking distance. The French Quarter, Superdome, Mississippi River Moonwalk, and Farmers Markets are all within a couple blocks of Julia & Magazine as well. We looked forward to the first Saturday of every month when the art galleries on Julia Street would all open their doors to show off their new exhibits. People from all walks of life would come out, enjoy a glass of wine and see great art while meeting new people. We also loved the White Linen Night festival on Julia Street every August. We Miss Living here!!! We would recommend this area to anyone looking to rent or buy property in New Orleans."
