My child has attended CMJH, and unfortunately our experience has been consistently disappointing, both with the staff and the school overall. As the only option in our area, we've had no choice but to continue, but if you have access to other junior high options, I'd strongly encourage exploring them. Your child will likely have a better educational experience elsewhere.

Embarrassing to admit my kids had been here since 1st grade , now in 5th . I have watched my child go from being ahead of her class to being in the middle and falling behind . My child has been abused mentally and emotionally by staff, and no one answers for those situations. When brought up to principle we are supposed to just trust that they actually did something about it, but they have no real documentation of them doing anything . My child had to sprint laps with no inhaler , when she asked to call me for it/ because she was traumatized she was denied . They didn’t even call me after they found out it was happening. My child has had CONSTANT bladder infections because they were not allowed to use the restroom when they needed , my child has came home soiled and humiliated for years because they weren’t allowed , and cried to me saying it hurt to much to keep holding . My child had 3/4 subs two years each year for the whole year because their teachers were leaving. They say they are the best school district but it’s literally only because they keep people quiet by not communicating the issues going on and sweeping things under the rug so they don’t have to respond to any of it. It’s All a show. Terrible lunch food/lunch people, terrible teachers , terrible subs , terribly ran. Constantly assuming you are going to have time/money to give to them, they don’t even ask they just TELL YOU bring this , pay for that. Ect.ect. No actual protocols being done for safety or victims rights . Just difficult/fake people to deal with. When your kids tell you something about people, believe them. Absolutely do not recommend

As a previous reviewer said, it might look good on paper but it’s really not. It’s a public school but the majority of the students are white privileged. It’s very prevalent in their sports department. They’ll sprinkle a little minority here and there but they always look out for the majority especially kids of alumni’s. It’s like a little community of privileged white people who do a lot of cultural appropriation-it’s their safe space to do this. The teachers are mostly young straight out of college with no experience and are very inappropriate with students. They have a dress code but you’ll see students bearing all they have. They pride themselves as one of the great high schools in Colorado Springs but it’s because of its location and sponsors. Don’t enroll your kids here if they’re a minority.
