  • Michelle A.
"Dog beach is nearby. Many restaurants are dog friendly. Several rentals do not permit pets even though it is considered a dog friendly neighborhood."

  • Buck W.
"Very central freeway access once you are able to get out of the neighborhood either through point Loma avenue or sunset cliffs"
  • Carlosgomez.1022a
"Small town feel, bohemian people, gorgeous views without the snobbery of other beach neighborhoods like La Jolla. More family oriented than Pacific Beach. "
  • Bella G.
"Getting in and out of town at certain times is rough. There are only a few streets that go in and out of ocean beach so late morning and 5pm the traffic is heavy. Wednesday is the worst at night because of the farmers market"
  • Alexandra N.
"I love living near the beach and the tranquility of a small neighborhood. Here's everything close, like bars, markets, restaurants."
  • Slaughead
"There are several dog friendly places in OB...in the negative side of that, there are also some “bad apples” that are irresponsible pet owners that do not clean up consistently behind their pets which I often fear is going to result in the restrictions of this acceptance/privilege that is extended to them by the community and that unfortunately I predict will start with rental properties not allowing for pets. "
  • Nicci N.
"street fair every Wednesday 😁 neighborhoods feel safe & family oriented. very local! no big corporate named businesses. grassroot minded economic industry. all age groups feel welcomed! awesome holiday town traditions. beautiful beach and famous pier with a lovely cafe. glad I live here"
  • Matthew M.
"We have an amazing farmers market, drum circle, free acro yoga events, small business saturdays, and a bunch of huge holiday events "
  • Autumndmoody
"There are homeless people and drugs in this area. Hippies and beach surfer town. Lots of apartments and short term rentals. "
  • Jillian C.
"Awesome happy hippy town with great beer and the best sunsets 🌅 on the west coast. Palm trees and puppies all day. "
  • Noelle F.
"OB Christmas parade, Christmas tree at the beach, Halloween, Farmers market every Wednesday, plenty of community events!"
  • Sierra L.
"Lots of dogs here, it is a very dog-friendly area. Within a few miles you have dog beach, fiesta Island which is the largest off-leash area we have ever seen and a couple other smaller dog parks. Most restaurants that have outdoor seating welcome pups as well as offer special dog menu items. OB loves dogs!"
  • Susanrust.sd
"Ocean Beach has many events throughout the year that are small and community focused. Great place to live but very expensive. "
  • Christi M.
"I work on Coronado and my daily drive is counter to traffic flow in the morning and evening! When I’m home from work I rarely use my car; everything is within walking distance."
  • Gsdiamond
"I've lived in OB for 8 years and love the neighborhood! Great, friendly people. Very walkable. Tons of character. "
  • Kikoinsd
"it's friendly. accessible. dog friendly. great restaurants and food. parking isn't that great but you do get lucky often. but the exercise is good "
  • Fairweatherbrittany
"It’s amazing. Close to the beach and good restaurants and food. The rents are pretty reasonable for the location and it’s a small town beach vibe. "
  • Elaina N.
"Ocean Beach is the quintessential small beach town with all the updated perks of modern living. Yes, there are some areas with tons of party type people / atmosphere. However, the residential streets away from Newport Ave with long-term residents, offer a peaceful living atmosphere with mature tree lined streets ... all with ocean views or walking distance too. Most old school residents are respectful and have a care for our earth vibe and keep clean yards and homes. The OB primary school is the cutest little school I've seen! The families are involved and the children seem happy. OB is close to all major freeways, downtown San Diego, Airport, Border, Sea World, and is in the center of it all. You do not need a car here. Public transportation, biking, walking, to all here is a breeze."
  • Jamie
"I wouldn't say that it's unique at all. It's great being close to the beach, but it's the noisiest neighborhood I've EVER lived in. There are some nice people, but most are very loud, rude and always partying. And I can can hear every car and loud motorcycle that goes by. "
