"Festivals downtown are nice for the families and friends. Nice small owned businesses in the Main Street. "
  • Laura Nichols
"The one thing I don't like are the city houses live across from three of them, and two out of the three always look like a total wreck"
  • Deejralee
"The community is easy, not a lot of traffic or busy times. It’s easy to get through and find your way"
  • Ebonylturnet96
"My community is a nice area to raise you children in. You really don’t have to worry about anything going wrong in the neighborhood I live in. Because law enforcement will be over here in a jippy if called."
  • Ebonylturnet96
"They can walk their dog(s). Without there being any type of problem. It’s not that nosey over here where I love."
  • Troy V.
"I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and everyone is friendly. Just outside of town. Close to everything NIles has to offer. Surrounded by wild life. "
  • Pam L.
"There are many philanthropic groups, music groups, sports, races, and great fundraisers, especially the Brawley family fish frys at the Eagles Club. Lots of trivia nights for many different groups. Always something to do in and around town."
  • Kayli H.
"its great they have plenty of public dog fenced in area including at parks. A lot of people that live here in Niles have a dog and or dogs and walk just as others."
  • Citykidz.jj
"I lived here almost 20 years and everybody knows everybody people are friendly the schools are better "
  • Rachellegollnick
"I haven't lived here long but the neighbors seem great and it's always felt safe untill about a week ago when out car was broken into. we now have a camera and no one else seems to have any issues. It feels like an isolated inciedent so I would still recommend!"
  • Hazel
"There is only the Dial a Ride! No Uber, I think Lyft may come from another town for a fee. My commute is fine as I have a car. However if I were to have transportation problems, I would be in trouble. There is nothing from Niles to other towns. If there were, the prices would be more than a person could pay. "
  • Stephanie B.
"Personally I like to take my dogs to the park, unfortunately I have to do a walk around before bringing them out to make sure there is nothing left on the ground the could Injure them. "
  • Gary B.
"clean friendly and watchful not much happens with out everybody else knowing but you could ask anybody for anything "
  • Shayla L.
"people friendly to dogs other dogs dont just attack another sog when its walking by they will bark but thats all! they love to play with other dogs. "
  • Ajstarrett01
"Loud neighbors. There are neighbors in this neighborhood that have race cars that drive fast and you can hear from many block always. There is also one with a dirt bike track in their back and side yard that comes up on the side walk. I would be worried walking or riding bikes on the sidewalk in fear of being creamed by a dirt bike."
  • Gary B.
"small and quiet even the bad areas arnt really that bad. i never had a problem growing staying out past dark and not many kids nowadays do either"
  • Eryn M.
"My mom, sister & brother-in-law live here. very nice, quiet neighborhood. Expensive houses with "Neighborhood Societies"."
  • Troyvance35
"You are a. 30 minute walk to down town Niles. Sidewalks are available once you reach Ballard elementary. 15 minutes or less to any Niles school. 15 minutes or less to groceries, and hardware store. Approximately 5 minutes to 31 bypass. "
  • Kelley K.
"movies, apple festivals, ice festival, small community, animals, fairs, horses. nice people that like to smile at others and enjoy good company. bonfires that are fun during the fall time. "
  • urbanite
"This is the best area to live in Niles. This region is a little peninsula below the St. Joseph river, and since there is no through traffic, there is a lot of privacy. It is close to the bypass in terms of access, but far enough so that you don't hear road noise. It's one of the few areas where the speed limits are low, and most people don't speed. That makes the area very walkable, which was essential to us in terms of having a safe, comfortable place to walk with little kids. Most areas around SW Michigan don't have that. The Morris Farm is beautiful to have right nearby, as is their cute little wedding chapel. There are all sorts of homes here, from contemporary subdivisions to larger lots with older homes. Commuting-wise we do work in both St. Joseph and South Bend/Mishawaka, the latter being closer and very convenient to access. So we have privacy, beautiful countryside, the enjoyment of good neighbors, but convenience to local shopping, groceries, etc. This is the place I recommend for people who work in South Bend but don't want to live right in the heart of it all."

"This is an upscale gated community. Some homes on a small lake, others backing up to magnificent woods. Generous lots. Privacy is respected and valued. Association maintains standards. "
  • Teri j. J.
"This is such a great area; perfect walking distance to schools, stores, restaurants, and parks. Friendly neighborhood and very clean. "
