3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved our daughter from a charter school to William Walker. The teachers there are great. They show their love for the kids. As 2nd graders, not only do they have math, English, PE, etc., and the school also provides Music, Technology, and Library. Kids get to borrow two books every week, it has been only a month, and my daughter started to like reading a lot. Previously my daughter always struggled with Math, but now she is enjoying doing math work. We are very surprised to see what a big change happened to her. Her classroom teacher is very nice and experienced. We are so impressed after the first teacher-parent conference with her. This is probably the biggest decision that as parents we made to move our daughter to William Walker. Our daughter now is a happy 2nd grader.Parent Review3y ago13 Reviews - Cedar Park Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kid just finished his 7th grade year. His experience hasn't been fantastic, but it's also one of the best possible in Beaverton. The school has had an excellent phone policy in place for years, long before other middle schools in the district, and they also don't allow backpacks in the classroom, which helps eliminate nonsense like giant bags of chips in the classroom. Unfortunately, and despite having some very solid teachers, the school hasn't found the magic formula to motivate less engaged students, and often, in order to keep behavior in line, they end up with a LOT of teacher-in-front time, guided teaching, and teaching to the lowest standard. That means that high achieving kids are bored out of their minds, and honestly, the low achieving kids are also bored. That said, behavior-wise, this school has things on track, far better than the average Beaverton middle school. Their band teacher is amazing, and their media lab teacher is also fantastic. THEY HAVE GREAT TEACHERS, but are limited a lot by the Beaverton curriculum and "common middle school experience". Their eighth grade teaching team is on point, and their AVID teachers are great. But, they haven't found the magic sauce that gets middle schoolers engaged, especially when working with a significant population of students whose families are facing food and housing insecurities. Would I recommend Cedar Park? Yes, compared to ANY other Beaverton middle school they are one of the least chaotic. But, if your kid can magically skip three years and go directly into ninth grade, that's absolutely the best way to go about things.Parent Review11mo ago10 Reviews - Beaverton High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter transferred to this school from a local charter school. I was a bit concerned, at first, because of the great school rating, but the move has been very positive. The teachers are organized, supportive and kind. The school makes a big effort to be inclusive and supportive. There are many advanced learning opportunities, including a healthcare program for job ready students upon graduation. If you are looking at this school, look past the grade given here. It is a wonderful school.Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 162nd St.

"I go to work with my own car and it is very rare that I use public transportation, although Beaverton is really great in terms of public transportation, as well as in terms of cleanliness and local access."

"There’s a lot of parks and there’s dog parks. However, I have nothing bad to say. A lot of places around the neighborhood have dog friendly stores."

"Good transportation to local markets and transit stations. Can be a little noisy. Easy access to highways and a lot of routes to get around heavy traffic."

"The transit system is great to get to downtown Portland you just have to figure out where to get off and where you have to switch to the next bus to get to where you want. Driving around beaverton is ok, driving to downtown Portland could take up to a hour depending on what time of day it is"

"I have lived in this area for six years. My family and I love the walk ability of the area and the close proximity to the freeway and mass transit. There is an incredible farmers market every Saturday that we love going to. The downtown Beaverton area has a lot of great little shops, a few restaurants and nice coffee houses. The parks in this area are the best. You can't beat Schiffler Park off Erickson. There is so much to do here. Walk, play basketball, join a game of soccer, play on the huge playgrounds, walk the boardwalk or check out the skate park. Our family especially loves the swing set on the Berthold entrance. It's beautifully tucked away and simple. "

"What a great location. Walk to MAX or grocery stores. Easy access to Hwy 217 and Hwy 26. Three parks in the neighborhood; one with BBQs and tables; one with playground equipment. Friendly neighbors -- just a great place to live."
