7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two kids that currently attend JHS. The school has quite a few problems, kids smoke/vape in the bathrooms all day and nobody does anything about it, teachers allow horrible profanity, there are mice in some parts of the school, the D wing stinks of sewage when it rains, the secondary gym is old and musty with terrible ventilation. The kids are not allowed enough time to go to their lockers between classes so they have to lug ALL their books all day. The school is unable to plan lunch time so kids have enough seats in the cafeteria so some kids have to eat in the hallways sitting on the floor. While doing virtual the teachers barely spend any time instructing, my kids maybe get a couple hours a day. The teachers do not follow their own plan to assign homework for the week on Monday but rather do it haphazardly. The teachers seem lazy and not vested in properly teaching during the shutdown. Instead assigning busy work to make it seem like they are doing something.Parent Review3y ago - Wildwood Middle School

"This is a very dog friendly neighborhood. People walk the dogs all the time. However, sometimes they don’t pick up after their dogs in common areas or seldom there is a pile in my yard."
- Apagroh

"Large lots and low traffic on the roads. Large, dog friendly park five minutes away. Mountain trails and C&O canal provide other safe pretty places to take a walk. "

"Becoming more of a DC commuting area but still has a good rural feel to the people and area. If you want strict zoning and harsh HOAs stay in the city. Your neighbors here mind there own business and want you to mind yours. However they are kind, will help out in a second and are open minded. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 21 years, and it is unique in that for the state of WV it is an upscale neighborhood. In fact the whole Eastern Panhandle is upscale compared to the rest of the state. "

"There is a farmers market downtown every weekend as well as local fresh produce.Parks and recreation offers a wide variety of activities for community members young and mature. There are youth sports leagues for soccer, football, baseball etc. There are often festivals in downtown Charles town on the weekend. There is a great small library. This is A historic area with battlefields and historic landmarks. Lots of things to see and do"

"Everyone pretty much stays to themselves, very quiet even though it’s tons of kids. Not much to do in the area, schools are just okay. Main thing going for the area is cost of living is affordable. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for three years and love every aspect about it. It's isolated, yet is accessible to everything that Charles Town has to offer. The location of the neighborhood provides various routes to Northern VA, Winchester VA, Frederick, MD. Only 15 minutes to I-81 in Martinsburg WV and 30 minutes from Frederick, MD. Ample hiking and nature trails and activities. Great area!!"
