8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone who has gone here, these so far have been 3 of the worst years of my life as an LGBTQ student. I got called slurs in the halls, and the counselors wouldn't do anything about it either. I have gotten hurt here from students, and they didn't care. I feel so bad for the people who aren't "popular" who go here do WHATEVER you can to not go to these middle schools I got water thrown at me in front of the whole school because of bullying the bullying was so bad I would harm myself.Other Review6mo ago8 Reviews - Northeast Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNortheast is an engaging community of teachers, students, and parents coming together to support learning. Both of my children have had nothing but wonderful experiences there, and they both went through the “gifted” program there as well. I love that Waltham supports the arts and has a drama elective (with performances) every year, and allows students to start instruments in 3rd grade. Other districts don’t start instruments until 4th or 5th grade. This school is exceptionally diverse, and my kids learned a lot about other cultures and countries just from their friends here—international night at Northeast is also not to be missed! I don’t know why this school ranks low, as it’s run by loving, supportive staff and my kids are way above grade level expectations because of the talented teachers here. Highly recommend!Parent Review10mo ago4 Reviews - Waltham Sr High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe new building opened in august 2024 and it has been a great experience in the extensive CTVE offerings. Students are engaged and motivated to attend classes. For the most part, school is everything you expect in an American high school. The AP teachers are wonderful and the early scholar's program with metro west are hands down the best learning opportunities. There are numerous clubs and sports for students to participate if they wish to. The equity score on this site is concerning, but to be expected as our school has many first-generation students with limited and interrupted schooling that can't just equally perform during 'common assessments testing'. Waltham high school produces graduates ready to excel to the level they pursue. We know various Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Umass, NYU, Northeastern, BC, Brandeis, Bentley bound youth- a few sports scholars, and some who go to the trade schools. When you visit the school you get a sense of a mini college campus, with the project-based learning focus, the breakout student spaces offer useful collaborative-social areas. The school can improve as it finds all its potential integrating more corporate community partnerships.Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 16 Summer Ave #013.

"I see people walking their dogs all the time and they are super nice and most of the time let you pet their dog. I think people here are friendly and learn to control their dogs and pick up after them so the place is always clean. "
