I have been going through many health issues, and the entire time I have been here, they have been nothing but rude to me. The school nurse has turned down my doctors' notes and has refused to excuse my absences, despite the fact that one of them was listed as a procedure. I have had a recent incident with my history teacher where he berated me about why I've missed so much school and haven't been able to catch up on work. I had tried to explain that I have multiple chronic illnesses but he kept asking questions. Let this be a reminder to those who don't know: No teacher has any legal right to ask about what your health/medical conditions are. The only ones who have that right are the main office and above. Otherwise, don't feel pressured to tell a teacher anything. I'll be moving online next year as this school has done nothing to help me keep up with my work. I only have three teachers who are actually kind and understand that I'm not always able to catch up. I wish I had just stuck to online instead of going back to in-person school.

Some needs can be treated wrongly and not handled correctly by discipline. Spec Ed teachers can be nice to Spec ed students and can be nice to themSafetySafety can be handled mediocre in a way. Students can be protected from harm on computers with administrators but can’t be protected from harmful substancesfir example a student inhaleds harmful substances and nothing has happened about itFamily Engagement Adults have to constantly search up school updates to figure out school news and events.

My son has an IEP and the staff and teachers have been amazing. The principal herself purchased a color book for my son with her own money - a titanic themed one, to keep him engaged as he is obsessed with it. The staff all know him by name, many know his birthday, and they all take special care to make him feel valued. All of his teachers have been great. The school has the before and after school Y program which helps me a lot as I work early and late hours. They decorate the hallways unbelievably for the yearly theme. There are over 500 kids and for him to be remembered so well is amazing. He loves it there.
