What we love about this home:

The house has a beautiful fenced-in back yard which is very intimate and magical. The fact that it was fenced in was great when we were raising our two kids. We could relax knowing they were safe in the yard.

We've made a lot of improvements on the house in the 14+ years we've been here. We finished the basement and installed a beautiful office with a private entrance. New hot water heater, new high-capacity, high-efficiency washer and dryer, new stove, fridge and dishwasher.

We removed a big cement-block sidewalk and replaced it with a beautiful, brick driveway which allows two cars to be parked. This is especially convenient during the winter months when cars cannot be parked on the street during a snowstorm.

Interior upgrades including painting, repairs, a new ceiling, eight new high quality historically correct Anderson windows. We installed a new floor in the kitchen and den and a new tile floor in the bathroom. Also new fixtures and Wainscoting in bathroom. Replaced all gutters and leaders. We even soundproofed the basement stairs!

We had 3/4 of the foundation repointed and waterproofed three feet below ground level. Parts of the basement interior were also waterproofed. We replaced the front porch floor. We installed built-in lighting in the den, kitchen and basement.

Please note: We have moved because we have had the opportunity to move to a nearby farm which has been a lifelong dream. Pictures show the house as it was furnished when we were last there.

We love this house. We love Cold Spring. We love Garden Street. We love the Hudson Valley. We love the community and the people in the town of Cold Spring. We were sad to leave but we're not far away!

Finished Basement is part of the rental. It has been used as an office, a gym, a playroom, and a bedroom. Additional expenses are all utilities - oil heat, electric, propane gas stove & dryer, water. Oil company says average is about 800-900 gallons a season. Electric is $50-$100 I'd say depending on AC use and frugality with lights, etc. Propane for stove and dryer is minimal. Water is about $220/quarter. Lawn care not included but an electric lawnmower is in the shed. The town doesn't charge for trash or recycling pick up.

  • Dstracci
"I wouldn’t call it a neighborhood, I’d call it an area. I like that it’s quiet but still close to everything and just Minutes away from the village of cold spring which always has something to do."
  • Stephanie
"I have lived here for 6 years and know everyone of our neighbors. We all came together to help one another in the last couple of storms. Neighbors look out for each other’s kids. It’s a special community within the larger communities of garrison and cold spring."
  • Stephanie
"Gorgeous neighborhood. Not in town, not too far from town. Nice community of neighbors and access to good schools."
  • Alexanderverron
"You couldn’t ask for a better neighborhood to commute to Nyc from if you have a family and enjoy being active outdoors."
