8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe amount of activities at this school are amazing, the schedule block they provide students with is fantastic. To state it's bad because it lacks diversity is a vacuous statement. The core of this school is great and it's what you make of it as a student. My children love it here and no I would not recommend the neighboring Amityville over here like someone below said. They clearly don't know that the Amityville district has teachers leaving and class sizes exploding. Do your research. I highly recommend this school!!!Parent Review11mo ago - East Lake Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is great I have had all 3 of my kids go here and it is amazing all the teacher and staff are very nice and helpful. I have 3 boys and one has special need and their program is amazing. I even noticed that kids from other school in the area go here because of the great programs my son always has his needs met they have also giving him an iPad to use as his voice we get to keep it over the summer and after school. He is in a different class room for the day with other kid with special needs but depending on the kid they might go in and out thought out the day depending in the class making sure the are learning at there level. But during lunch he is with his with his grade because he can sit and talk with them at lunch and hangout with them at recess. And for my other kids they love it here the teachers are lovely and always trying to fifer out what works best for them. They are always trying to make leading fun and it seamed to me that they are doing a great job. Also they have so great support classes. The teacher are trying to get them up to there peers but not trying to rush them which it amazing.Parent Review1y ago - Mhs Ames Campus

"Commute is not bad. Centrally locates. Sunrise Highway can get congested with all the lights. Commute in morning better than afternoon. Friday afternoon the most congested in summer when people are heading out East for weekend. Morning commute most congested when school is in session. Long Island railroad into city is great. "
