so ive had my first year and i just want to come on here and say that this school is HORRIBLE. about 12 fights the FIRST week of school and that wasnt even all. about half of the school wanted to fight me and my bestfriend because they had MY name in their mouth. teaching is also not good here. this new rule they are making about the phones is not going to change anything. most of the kids that disrupt the class dont even have a phone and dont do work. how do yall think its going to change just because yall are putting phones in a pouch.?

The Principal (Ms. Martin) and Assistant Principal (Mr. Wright) have been amazing with assisting the children and addressing parent concerns. They take the time to involve themselves with each kid in their care. They know student by name and can also speak directly with parents concerning the needs of their individual student without having to consult with the teacher or look in a file. They team with teachers to provide them with support as well. They also have different hands on programs to assist children who are struggling with different subjects or assessments. They make these children feel elite and special, as oppose to approaching them as failing and unresponsive children. They are very hands on and it shows in how the kids light up when they see them. The office staff are a bit challenging though, some days they are friendly, other days not so much. Communication is a bit abrasive but I don’t think it’s meant in a malicious manner. They also make it a point to know students by name and assist them as well. Their passion shows through from that perspective. Overall, Commons Lane is a great school for students to excel in learning with a touch of the nurturing care they are custom to receiving at such a young age.

I graduated from this school 10 years ago and I see that it hasn't changed. The overwhelming majority of students didn't want to learn, holding back the students that did. I had teachers that did nothing about bullying and teachers that put zero effort into their lessons. Frequent fights on campus. It's amazing that I graduated from college because this school definitely did not prepare me. Please don't send your kid here.

My children have been going to this school since Kindergarten and are now in fifth and second grade. On numerous occasions I would call the school to tell them about issues with bulling. Nothing would happen, with the exception of, " we understand your concern and its being investigated." We've had issues with some of the staff telling children to shut up, calling them tattle tellers and using the word idiots to children. Of course all of which was being investigated when followed up on. Some of these teachers have no control of there classes. My children have been punished by removal of recess and made to put their heads on their desk because of kids disrupting the class. What is that teaching my child who does the right thing ? They're punishing the good kids because they have no control. My children beg to not go to school when a substitute is present in fear of being included on the feedback report their teacher will receive or either being picked on. Because basically a substitute is just body in a chair. I will say however, we started having all these problems within the past 2-3yrs. I feel it has something to do with them trying to keep their accreditation. The first couple years were great. Teachers were friendly, kids were more controlled and my children enjoyed going to school. It's the end of the year and I truly hope next school year is better. If not, we plan to enroll our children in private school.

My son was at the school in the early 2000's and had Renee Schopp for his teacher in 3rd and 5th grade.She was outstanding. We left Missouri in 2004. Chris spent 7 years in the Navy and is now in Boston studying architecture
