I do not feel safe having my kids in this school anymore. My son is to scared to go to school there because he almost got jumped by 10 students. Im sure back then it wasnt this bad but im trying to get my kids outta there.

This is my daughters first year at Cleo Gordon and I will admit when I first found out that it was a "needs improvement school" I was set on getting her out of there as soon as possible, but I found out that "needs improvement" means, among other things, that they get extra money so that the kids that need extra help have it and I am very happy with the way the school is run so far. The only thing that I would change if it were at all possible would be the size of the classes. I can't imagine being a teacher there, I would have to be committed. I have a LOT of respect for the educators today, with all that they have to deal with and to still be able to teach our young children the things that they need to learn. My hats off to all of you!!!

I am a parent at this school, and I am extremely concerned about the way a very serious situation was handled. My son was threatened by another student who claimed he had a gun and also threatened to fight him. While the gun turned out to be fake, this is not something to take lightly in today’s world. Shockingly, the student who made the threat received no consequences... no expulsion, no detention, nothing. He continues to attend school and share a classroom with my son, who did absolutely nothing wrong.Instead, my son was recommended for independent study. Upon returning, he has been bullied and called names by other students. As a parent, I am enraged. Why is the child who made such a dangerous threat still allowed to be in school, around other kids, without mandatory psychological help or disciplinary action?With everything happening across this country, this lack of accountability is not only frightening but also the exact kind of culture that makes students feel emboldened to do things like school shootings. Parents deserve better, and our children deserve to feel safe at school.
