7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has become an example of what is wrong with the American school system. My oldest graduated 5 years ago and it has declined so precipitously it is hard to remember what it used to be. The new principal cares more about the 01%of students in the full ib courses than making sure the rest of the student body is safe and properly educated. They now nickel and dime the parents with fees with zero to show for it. This school has repeatedly denied children lunch because their account didn't have enough in it, irregardless of the students family situation. They treat the school like a prison and the kids prisoners but still cannot contain the lawlessness. If you have any choice at all send your kids somewhere else or homeschooling them.Parent Review1y ago - Parkwood Elementary

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot nearly as impressed with this school as I thought I would be. There have only been a few teachers in the past few years (between two children) that have left any type of lasting impression. Compared to other elementary schools in our county (and the desire to send your children to Parkwood) it's been a pretty big let down. They do offer science nights and literacy nights. The school seems to have pretty good turn outs at these events, but sometimes that's just not enough. This year has been one of the better years, so hopefully things continue to turn themselves around.Other Review7y ago - Jacksonville Commons Middle

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a student at this school., and i do not recommend going to this school at all. the reason following this claim is that the kids at this school are very toxic. such as making pages on social media to bring down other students, talking about their appearances. and i would know how this feels because I have been put on these types of pages. as a result, a do self-harm because everywhere I go in this school, I do not feel safe whatsoever. When students would go to admin to inform them about situations like this, they claim that they will do something about it but nothing effective ever happens. And instead of going to admin, some kids go to their teachers to inform them of this situation. As a result, they don't do anything about the situation either. consider this a warning...Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 155B Lakewood Dr.

"I'm not aware of community events besides Halloween but the people are friendly and there is a few schools very close to the actual neighborhood. I have never had any issues living here and it has been a very safe environment so far from the time that I have lived here. I am very happy with everything except the roads which are bumpy and some potholes. These items get taken care of throughout the year."

"The roads are clutter free when utilizing roads away from entry and exit points from Camp Lejeune. I would use an app to navigate roads during peak traffic periods. Jacksonville has smooth roads inside the heart of the city. I would only use mass transit in this town if I was not in a rush. "
