5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am so happy that my daughter transferred to this school. The administration is actively involved with the students and making the school a unique place to learn. I get the feeling they really care about the students individually and their future success. They are very proactive and progressive in their thought processes. My daughter's team of teachers (8th grade) seem like they truly enjoy their students. From orientation to the present, the school just feels really good and my daughter said she couldn't be happier. We are glad we made the switch! So far so good. Two thumbs up!Parent Review5mo ago - Piedmont Year-Round Education

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had to transfer my oldest daughter from Dunbar to this school due to being bullied and suicidal ideation. When I transferred her here, she excelled, and is doing a lot better. Been here for 2 years now, with this our last year. Definitely recommend this school to parents looking for a great school for their children to excel. Just found out they have PreK and I'll be sending my two youngest here.Parent Review8y ago - Capital High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCapitol High is a dump! The teachers and the administrators are failing the kids while the collect their pay checks every week. Some of the staff should be tested for drug abuse. The school is depressing and disorganized. It's hard to move from out of state and tolerate inadequate function of a school and it's school board. Shame on you Capitol High and Kanawha board of education for failing the student and parent of West Virginia.Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 1555 Dixie St.

"I like living in charleston because its close to wear i work i am able to walk everyday. Some what quite we just need to find a new place because our landlord is selling our place and they are making it into a halfway house. Which is crazy because its across the street from an school and a daycare. "

"I used to live in the area. The area is quiet, but ecletic. There are older and young families living in the area. Yes, people do tend to keep to themselves, but this is out of respect for each other personal space and diversity. It is the best kept secret in Charleston: feel you are in a hip area of the city without the expense of paying for it."
