Just off Hwy 16, tucked away neighborhood is only 15 miles to Charlotte airport, yet only a few miles to Lake Norman's shores (5 mi to Westport Marina or 7 to Cowan's Ford CC). Cathedral ceiling LR with rock frpl & HW flrs flowing into dining area. Kitchen has vaulted ceiling with skylight, brkfst bar, & smooth top stove. Fridge remains. MBR on main with dbl sink vanity. Septic record says 3BR capacity, but choices incl 3BRS on the 1st flr, or choose the bsmt bonus rm with closet. Bsmt also had 3rd full bath with seated step in shwr, a large laundry rm with utility sink, and a family rm with 2nd rock frpl (sellers never used the upstairs frpl). Relax on the huge deck overlooking the hardwood treetops beyond the privacy fenced back yard, or keep cool on the covered patio underneath. The score 9/10 is only because pressure is placed on the teachers and students to provide high test scores. The school is a toxic environment for teachers and students. There are some slivers of positive aspects of the school but everything trickles down from poor leadership which is the current principal. The teachers and students feed off the negative energy that the principal exudes. She treats the students like they are mini adults instead of children. She needs retraining. The teachers perform poorly due to the stress they feel from principal. If your child goes here…. Stay involved. Ask questions and ask principal what she did about a situation that you went to her about. Often she does not follow up and gaslights. She has more of an authority type leadership. Definitely not well suited for middle school. One time she said “ you are an embarrassment” to a child. Not appropriate to say.

"Very friendly and supportive to all. I’ve lived here a year. I feel very safe. This is home. It is small and doesn’t offer a lot of restaurant and store options, but it has the basics and lots of charm."

"Low crime, friendly people, small town yet 20 minutes to Charlotte Douglas airport. Plenty of neighborhood festivals, a coffee/craft beer shop, some local and franchise restaurants and food trucks galore! "

"I’ve lived here for 5 years it feels really safe and neighborly the negatives are the loud train which you get used to and the ridiculously overpriced taxes for not much to look at in the town Overall we’ve met some great people living up here and no immediate interstate access makes it feel quiet "

"i have l lived in the area for 50 years. Easy to get a false sense of security in this laid back setting. It's safe as any place. Mean people will be whever you lay your head. It's growing by leaps and bounds, I feel."

"You see lots of people take an afternoon walk with pets or children. They always wave and smile. The town also has a great park which lots of families attend ballgames to watch their children play! Parents should know that your children would be missing out if they were not in some kind of community sport. It’s a great experience!"

"Stanley, NC is a great place to raise a family or retire. It is situated just outside of Charlotte, NC and offers an easy commute for professionals. Lake Normand and Mountain Island Lake are both just minutes away so if you love the outdoors this is the place for you. "

"An outstanding area to raise a family. Enjoy the country but only 20-25 min. to uptown Charlotte and all that the city has to offer. We are transplants from Columbus, Ohio and love Stanley, North Carolina. The town folk have raised enough money for the new Harper Park. It is going to be a fantastic place to ride bikes, hike, play ball and so on."
