"There are a number of green spaces to walk your dog in most Shorewood neighborhoods. There is also a dog park (technically Joliet) on Black Road which is a large fenced area where you can unleash your dog for fun and play (a permit is required.)"
  • Debra S.
"You definitely need a car! It’s at least an hour drive into the city and the opposite direction is all farmland."
  • C.sandstrom
"Very welcoming neighborhood and everyone is so nice. I enjoy the walking paths. Wish there were more trees for shade, but overall very enjoyable community. "
  • DebbieSink
"I’ve lived here for 7 years! It’s nice, friendly, safe, lots of shopping and easy to get to expressways! "
  • Diana S.
"We have hay rides for the kids, and other fun activities. We also have concert in the park, splash pad for the kids"
  • Sdd2687
"Been here for 3 years, nice people, neighbors, quiet. Pet friendly. The community tries to bring nice things in. Concerts at the park, Shorewood Fest, Octoberfest. Adding new retail all the time."
  • Kristenmackinac
"Quiet, well kept, great schools and friendly people. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Close to expressway. "
  • Krystle B.
"There are many younger families in this neighborhood as well as a grade school very close by and a park where many Shorewood events are held. "
  • Caldwell.dewayne
"Garage sales community events, Halloween and football parties. It’s also pretty cool to see neighbors mow the lawn about the same time."
  • Doc Wilke
"Living in The Fields of Shorewood is like winning the lottery. It's the best combination of angelic neighbors, an extreme sense of safety and unparalleled beauty. We are blessed beyond words!"
  • Cmoauro
"I do not commute to work; I am retired. If a person works in the city of Chicago he/she must drive by way of one of the interstate highways. Metra commuter trains are available. Public transportation is at a minimum."
  • Sonia S.
"Family friendly, close to several grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants! Big enough to have many options, but Small town feel. Close to Naperville and Chicago. "
  • Reneemostyn
"Very safe area for families to grow up in. I feel safe walking my dog at random hours of the night with no problems "
  • Sharron E.
"Great neighborhood! Clean, safe, friendly, neat many stores and restaurants! I highly recommend it. "
  • Siedah T.
"I’ve lived here my whole liked his is a great community to live in and to raise children. It is quiet and safe, everything anyone could dream of in a Midwest suburban area. "
  • isaiah
"Corn fest I guess. The better events usually take place around shorewood. This community needs more festivals. And if there are some, then they are not advertised as well. Hopefully that huge screen on rt 59 and Theodore helps. "
  • Daniel c.
"I think that they would enjoy it, just like every other dog owner that currently exist near my neighborhood. They all have their dogs walking around during the day and night."
  • Cmoauro
"Easy access to I-55 and I-80 by car. Metra and Amtrak trains available to downtown Chicago. PACE bus service has one bus with limited service with the bus stop at the very east end of town"
  • Danamicheleadamson
"love this neighborhood. it's a great place to have a growing family and live here for the rest of our days. Ty for asking. Many people I know who've moved out of the area want to move back and regret leaving. "
  • Danamicheleadamson
"lovely neighbors & importantly I feel safe to raise my family, etc., in... very happy, beautiful environment "
  • Redfern0508
"lived here for 12 years. good community with good schools and excellent services. the snow plowing in the winter can't be beat. "
  • Brett J.
"Lived in neighborhood for 10 years. Although ready for a single family home and move out of a townhome."
  • Ali_mason9
"Very quiet, not many kids. Good for families with older children or couples without children. Must take care of yard or will be judged. Not a place for neighborly people, many people are “ok” not becoming friendly with their neighbors. Great local bars for younger crowds. Awesome brewery near. Really good breakfast restaurants in the area! "
