Description

The Kalaheo Beach House is a spacious 2-bedroom, 1 1/2-bath traditional plantation home, offering an authentic Hawaiian living experience in a private, serene garden setting, only steps away from the world-famous Kailua Beach.

Welcome to our charming remodeled vintage Hawaiian-style Beachlane home. Ideally situated on a private beach lane, in a serene, garden setting, it's only 240 steps away (we counted them) from the world-famous Kailua Beach on Oahu's windward side. It's truly just four minutes out the front door and down the private lane to access beautiful, uncrowded Kailua Beach.

Outside the house, there's a large garden area with an outdoor shower, a breezy, lovely open deck with furniture, and a gas BBQ. The storage shed contains 4 small adult bicycles, beach chairs, small coolers, boogie boards, and float noodles for use at the beach. There's also a beach wagon to pull the chairs to the beach. An open Hawaiian outdoor hot/cold shower is behind the house for you to enjoy when you come from the beach.

Inside, you'll find another bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink, as well as a half bath with a toilet. One bedroom comes with a queen-sized bed, and the second bedroom has two extra-long twin beds. The full kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, freezer & ice maker, full stove (but no automatic dishwasher), a dining area for 6, and a nice living room with a large flat-screen cable-connected HDTV and a pull-out couch. There's also a large desk in the kitchen with Wi-Fi internet access for your laptop. The house also has a landline for local calls.

Most days, island trade winds and ceiling fans will keep you comfortable, but at night or when needed, there's air conditioning for your added comfort in each bedroom and a whole-house fan to cool the living/dining room. Additional portable AC unit can be brought in for $25/day. There's a washer and dryer on the property and a double-wide parking space.

The property manager lives in Kailua and is very responsive. You can expect to be greeted when checking into the house, and we will be as involved as you'd like.

"Kailua is a beautiful small town that replicates the spirit of Hawai’i in a community. My grandfather lived and built a small house in Kailua where he raised my mother and her siblings. My mother took over the house where I currently reside. I’ve always loved and lived in Kailua. It’s deep Hawaiian history and ever growing community is beautiful. "

"Good people and beautiful atmosphere, pricey neighborhoods lead to great views and tons of amenities in a coastal community. Schools are best in terms of comparison to other parts of the island, and definitely beneficial to parents with kids requiring a proper and well facilitated education. Streets are clean and safe, traffic is low and quiet, and a decent amount of dining options for special nights out. Transit time to neighboring areas is reasonable depending on departure times. Highly recommended if beaches and outdoor life is a value, as it’s home to two of the top beaches in the world. Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy quick access to great water sports and scenic hikes that surpass expectations. "

"My commute from my neighborhood is awesome compared to other places on the island. I can get onto the H3 which can take me to the west side of the island or I can easily get to the Pali to get to downtown Honolulu. Access to the Likelike through kaneohe which is the next neighboring town to us is easy and can be a great alternate if there’s traffic on either the H3 or the Pali. We can also take a scenic route through Waimanalo to go through Hawai’i Kai to get into town if we wanted to take that option. We have many great options."

"We have multiple events throughout the year. The “I Love Kailua”, really rallies up the whole Kailua community, using entertainment, food, games, etc. Families line up the side of the street for the Holiday Parades. Multiple times in the week we have farmers Markets but Thursday’s farmers market really bring the family together. Our 4th of July fireworks is the perfect way for the entire Kailua to be out enjoying the beautiful sky lights as it is lit up from the art display of the fireworks."

"I’ve lived in Kailua for 14 years and love everything about it. From the small mixture of old and newer town with new development, everything is in close proximity. Majority of the people here are very friendly and just have a lot of aloha. There are lots of community events and things that gets the whole kailua involved. I love this place I call home, Kailua."
