Description

Estate-Quality Property: Spectacular Views on 1.67 Acres (+/-) in West Bloomington
~~~
Welcome home. This open-concept rambler is no cookie-cutter home! It has carefully maintained accents of mid-century charm, including antique frosted-glass cabinetry, a walk-in pantry, an enormous master bedroom with a soaring ceiling and an antique solid-surface countertop in the master bathroom. Perfect for entertaining, it also features many updates -- solid-surface countertops in the kitchen, a skylight, and a large, low-maintenance deck featuring a screened gazebo overlooking the city skyline. Enjoy the bright, four-season sunroom with windows the length of the south and east walls -- and warm those chilly Minnesota nights with either of two stone fireplaces, one in the sunroom and the other joining the family room and dining room. And, if worse comes to worst and the power goes out, you have a whole-house, automatic-on, natural-gas generator.
~~~
Your million-dollar skyline vista is viewable from two huge plate-glass windows, one in the enormous family room and another in your home office; a third huge window showcases the beautifully landscaped back yard. (Please note that the willow tree in one picture has since been removed.) Many rooms have hardwood beneath the carpet, so the choice is yours: keep the current carpet, replace it with your carpet of choice or remove it to reveal long-protected vintage hardwood dating back to the 1940s! The exercise/bonus room could be converted into an additional bedroom. The only home with significant visibility from this property is your neighbor's stunning 8,000+-square-foot masterpiece. Live in the delightful pre-existing home or build your own masterpiece!
~~~
Location, privacy, acreage and an estate-quality view!
~~~
The true piece de resistance, however, is the stunning walkout lot on which this home sits. Off the market for more than 40 years, this 1.67-acre (+/-) property on a hill features a stunning view of the city, abundant wildlife that lives in 8 acres of undeveloped, city-owned parkland that immediately adjoins the property, many mature trees including hardwoods, tremendous privacy and the limited traffic that accompanies living at the apex of a horseshoe-shaped road. It is located in Bloomington school district 271 (Ridgeview Elementary School, Olson Middle School and Jefferson High School).
~~~
But your getaway is not far away -- you are right off Normandale Boulevard/Highway 100 and near 494 with easy, quick access to many parks and lakes, including being within walking distance of Lake Normandale and Hyland Park Reserve.
~~~
Please take some time to see this rare gem. Perhaps it is your opportunity to buy -- or build -- the stunning sanctuary you've always wanted.

    "We have a "BookLESS Club" open to all Bloomington women. It is like a book club but there is no book - we just get together at each other's homes or community events and make friends and have a good time developing friendships. It has been a great way to meet neighbors and make new friends. "
  • Jillc76
    "It’s a nice, quiet neighborhood and you can walk your dog without worrying about a lot of traffic. Neighbors are always out in their yards so it’s very easy to meet people. We do have a Fox in the neighborhood and have had coyotes in the past. There are also bald eagles around as well as hawks. If you have a small dog or cat you won’t want to leave them outside by themselves. There have been a few dogs and cats that have been taken. "
  • Hirmansd
    "a fireman's softball tournament each year at Kent Hrbeck field. curbside cleanup each year for entire community. "
  • Prud154
    "Good awesome it’s all fine living here. It is nice to live here for a long period . Everything is secure here"
  • Mary O.
    "Nothing to add to previous questions that have been asked .. this area is good and bad , depends on where you are. Traffic coming over the Minnesota river is always tricky and construction makes it more difficult. "
  • Solbergtr
    "I have lived in this neighborhood for approximately 25 years. All the neighbors seem the get along and watch out for one and another. "
  • Mary O.
    "Bloomington is beautiful and a great place to live with many things to do in every season! Schools are very nice but they don’t give homework . "
  • Cc_rider
    "I live on the parkway and we love walking the dogs here. There are sidewalks like in Mpls that is why we choose this area."
  • Lauren E.
    "There are so many dogs in the neighborhood. I love all of our dog owners, everybody is respectful and the dogs are ADORABLE. 15/10 bring my dog to this neighborhood. "
  • Daylynn H.

  • V8coupe
    "I see people out walking their dogs on a regularly basis when the weather is nice and it is sunny outside"
  • Aly S.
