The historic Red Stone house was built in 1892 by Oliver Traphagen for Chester and Clara Congdon for them to reside in while their grander home, the Glensheen Mansion, was under construction. In 1975 the home was registered on the National Register of Historic places to preserve this gem of the north indefinitely. Unfortunately, this majestic building fell prey to arson in 2014. Redstone now shines with new life and will provide much needed housing in the area.
