6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are looking to move to a neighborhood in this school district, please read this first. I have had my kids in 3 different school districts over the years, and this one is by far the worst. First, and most importantly, this is not a safe place for kids. There is a lot of bullying that happens here and since the administration won't do anything about it, so there are fights on a regular basis. The district is entirely too large for what this very small school can handle so it's overcrowded and a mess for the students to navigate between classes in multiple buildings. Some of the classrooms are in temporary buildings that lack proper hvac. I have been in one at a parent/teacher conference that was well over 80 degrees when it was hot outside due to a very small window unit being the only cooling source. The communication from the school for anything is extremely lacking. The school my kids went to previously sent things home with the students, informed of events by text message, and put all information on their website. My kids have been going here for over 3 months and one of my son's teachers didn't even recognize him nor even know his name. Even after being told my son's name he didn't even realize that was one of his students. If you kids play sports, good luck. Unless they have gone here forever or are the best athlete their age, they won't get to play. We got informed of a mandatory practice, that was not on a school day, two days in advance when we already had plans. Because my son missed this practice he is the only kid on the team that didn't get to play in their games. The surrounding school districts are full enough to not allow transfers, so you and your kids will be stuck dealing with this absolute nightmare of a school.Parent Review5mo ago - Silo Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved our children from a much larger school district 3 years ago. My husband and I have been very pleased with the principal and teachers that they have had. The open communication is very beneficial to insuring that our children are receiving the educational support that is needed to help them succeed. Silo Elementary has a very successful Academic Team, they just won a State Championship this year! If there were any improvements that I have noticed that need to take place it would be the outdated playground. I am aware that they are trying to raise money through fundraisers and donations, but I know safe, and sturdy playgrounds can be very expensive.Parent Review10y ago - Check out schools near 15 Rawlings.

"Lots of drugs, tweakers, and idiots. A few nice people. It's okay during the day but can get a little crazy at night. There are loose dogs, iffy people, idiots driving crazy, etc. You have to be careful. We have found needles on the ground. "

" nice community by a very nice elementary school. very low crime rates in my neighborhood and a very caring community that bans together to make necessary changes in the neighborhood to keep it safe and beautiful"
- Recacobbs

"I live here. Not the greatest neighborhood but, it is what we could afford. I am lucky to have good neighbors. People in the area let their pets run loose which is a nuisance. It is a cute older neighborhood. It is in the city limits but, does NOT have City Amenities. No City water or sewers or Electric.... Electric is co-op, water is rural and sewage is Septic Tanks. Not ideal"
