I had a terrible experience at this school. My son was transferring and required special education. The special ed coordinator who is still employed there lied and told me I was wrong that my son had a personal para, contrary to his legal special ed documents from his prior school. She stated this in a room with other staff members who heard me tell them to reference where it said 1:1 para. She continued to lie and ignore me and tell me they don't really do paras at their school because they have a special sensory room where a counselor was there to help ALL the kids who had a problem during to be able to go to process. (They didn't have any para's to assign him so they lied basically. They had a sign outside that they were hiring,) In doing so, she cancelled my son's whole plan that was supposed to be transferred and he went downhill drastically. To the point that he was suicidal and she continued to push every button of his and yell at him daily. He was forced to be in the room with just her or the assistant principal who also just seemed to cover for the special ed coordinator. After I pointed out the issues that I felt were not legal per NH special needs guidelines, the assistant principal threatened to report me to DCYF because I didn't want to send him to school until they updated his IEP because he was suicidal. The assistant principal said she wouldn't excuse the absences until our next meeting which they scheduled for 10 days away (the max allowed legally) Who on earth would agree with sending a suicidal student back to sit with the very people who were ignoring his special needs. I wish she called DCYF!!! I would love the opportunity to see that report back! NO SAFETY AT ALL. My son got off the school bus and started walking home without anyone noticing. I never got any answer that explained why I was lied to by the special ed coordinator. The school district sends out letters about how great they are at special ed and it couldn't be further from the truth. Our last school was a 10 compared to this school which clearly had absolutely no clue what they were doing and then would cover up any of their wrong doings. RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THIS SCHOOL. Even after reporting to the school board and the superintendent, those women still work there. I put a post on FB and several members of the community sent messages about the teachers are upset with her as well because they are forced to have kids with special needs not having their supports.
