Description

This classic, updated 2BD/2.5BA condo in the coveted, historic DC Car Barn is less than 1 mile from the Capitol Building and sights, recreational opportunities, nationally ranked restaurants and exciting night life.

Situated on a quiet street, we have the convenience of an artisan coffeehouse across the street and cute neighborhood market with a stellar selection of craft beer around the corner.

A picturesque set of stairs take you to the first floor where a ton of sunlight spills in through plantation shutters in the front. Hardwood floors don the living room and dining room, but the built in book shelves that accommodate a 55" TV as well as a wood burning fire place are what make the home ready to be lived in.

The extremely large kitchen has granite countertops, matching stainless steal appliances, wine fridge and shaker cabinets. There is ample cabinet space and a pantry for kitchen storage.

On the main floor is a newly renovated half bath and stackable washer dryer in it's own closet.

One floor up is the master and guest suites as well as a large linen closet in the hallway that has a sunlight that brings in tons of natural light. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The entire floor is carpeted in a low-pile neutral that's easy to keep clean.

The master bedroom is large and more than accommodates a king bed, night stand and dresser with room to spare. This room also has his and hers walk in closets. The master bath is newly renovated with his and her sinks with lots of drawers as well as deep wall shelves. The glass shower and beveled subway tile make this room a spa getaway in your very own home.

The guest/second bedroom easily fits a queen and a twin, but certain a queen with bedroom set as well. There is a large wall closet and additional deep closet in this room. The updated bathroom has one sink and large mirror.

The pool may be one of the best features of this property in that pools on Capitol Hill are very uncommon. This lifeguarded pool is at the heart of the community within the gated interior and above the parking garage, so it gets a nice breeze. The pool itself is not a lap pool but is certainly large enough to swim back and forth on calm, quiet weekend mornings and during the week when traffic is light and to accommodate a fun and festive mix of young professionals and young families during weekend afternoons when it tends to be a little busier. The pool deck is enormous with a ton of seating and tables - you never have a problem finding a place to spread out and get some rays on a the perfect day.

Parking in a gated lot housed within the interior of the community is available for $150/month. Garbage and recycling are within the gated portion of the community as well.

The condo is well positioned in the city, being on 5 blocks from the Stadium Armory Metro, 7 blocks from Potomac Ave. Metro and 9 blocks from the Eastern Market Metro. Two blocks away is a large park that's perfect for kids and dogs. And it's in bounds to Maury Elementary School.
