9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter loved going to Carmenita. She truly thrived there. The staff is amazing and supportive. The principal knows how to connect with the kids. He constantly encourages them to get better grades. He is a true mentor the kids respect and love him. Overall a great school. Yes you might have to invest in math tutoring like all the public schools in CA. But socially and emotionally the school is the best.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Cerritos High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have to teach myself most of the time, math program is nigh incomprehensible. Students have given up completely on grades and from what I have seen, more than half have turned to drug use to cope or for recreation. Administration is slow to respond to infrastructure and common quality of life issues. School focuses more on AP classes than the actual programs which most people take, most care, time, and money are poured into these programs rather than updating the base programs. In the past two days as of time of writing there has been a shooter threat and bomb threat. School has horrible counseling with a "stay positive" attitude towards mental health and bullying. Students are disrespectful not only to teachers, but to each other as a strict social hierarchy and grouping is subtlety enforced. 504 plans are good however.Student Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Gonsalves (Joe A.) 10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do NOT like this school. seriously. the new principal? He is a man who would do anything to protect his career. he isnt even good at it. bullying is off the charts, and as for homework? nothing great. teachers yell at students and pressure them. needs better teachers and a new principal asap . as for mental health, I think its okay now. the new therapist is alright. but seriously, no learning is done, and as for academics? they spend more time making sure people know what equality is than actually enforcing it. do not go here.Other Review6mo ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near 14626 Firestone Blvd.

"There are many parks in the area. Regional park is especially impressive with its large fishing pond, walking paths, indoor and outdoor sports centers, disc golf course, a water park, and a library all on the same grounds. Family events are also held in the park, with the biggest event of the year being the fireworks show on July 3rd."

"My mom grew up in La Mirada and bought a house in La Mirada. I hope to do the same and raise my own children here! It is an amazing city, with a small town feel, perfectly situated between the OC and LA. We truly get the best of both worlds. Freeway access is easy and getting better. Parks and community services/activities are AMAZING and many people from other local cities come to enjoy our events! We LOVE La Mirada💛"

"It’d a nice, quiet, safe area. The only bad thing about it is the commute. But aside of that, it’s nice."
