"People walk their dogs all the time in our neighborhood and there are dog parks nearby. I don’t own a dog myself. "
  • C.swain.skaggs
"There are a lot of dogs, but limited space in the neighborhood to walk them. There are however plenty of parks in walking distance. "
  • C.swain.skaggs
"Lots of dogs. Well behaved. Not a whole lot of private space to run a dog. Sometimes people let their dogs out unattended."
  • C.swain.skaggs
"My neighborhood has great access to public transportation. Peak commute hours can be busy, add an additional 10-15 minutes to get where you want to go if traveling at those times. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s a great town with nice people. It is distinct in feel and vibe from the large communities across the water off island. "
  • Angie.candido.z
"It’s beautiful, just far from the main land. No places to go out on the weekend. Wish it offered more."
  • Trulia User
"my neighborhood has access to public transportation. I commute to and from Seattle daily without driving at all "
  • Wayne D.
"most of the dog walkers are well trained with their dogs and are leashed. there is a dog park in town."
  • Niseym
" We have a quiet neighborhood that allows peaceful walks, wildlife to enjoy, and dark skies at night to enjoy stargazing "
  • Kaitlin-dwight
"Decent little town with small town charm. There isn’t much shopping but bare necessities are here. Lots of different parks for children to play at. "
  • Francis S.
"My commute out of town is busy because of deception pass. The housing here is expensive. Not a bad town but far from big cities."
  • Sacora J.
"This is a very safe neighborhood. Very family friendly with lots of parks for the littles. There is a skateboard park and a dog park as well."
  • Lgribb
"Dog walks and days on the beach. Neighbors are friendly and will stop and chat. The area looks nice. "
  • Lgribb
"Dog owners would like the freedom to walk leashed dogs in the area and the fenced yards of most home owners. They would not like the lack of enforcement when a dog is not well cared for or runs rampant in the neighborhood. "
  • Gringelstetter
"None. keep to ourselves. we are not loud and keep to ourselves with few relationships but neighbors do look out for each other"
  • Rebecca M.
"I live in a lower income neighborhood at my parents home while I look to buy a home. My immediate neighbors are extended family pretty much. They are elderly so I help them sometimes with certain chores. They’ve been our neighbors for as long as I can remember. People speed bad in the neighborhood and are inconsiderate of their music or the neighborhood kids playing outside. There is also a lot of drug use. Lots of traffic for users. They sometimes have drug induced psychotic moments at the bus drop out front of my house. A few weeks back one of the heroin uses who frequents the area nodded out and fell in front of a car. It was sad. The neighbor hood has always been some what questionable, but surrounding neighborhoods are like night and day! Not Nearly the same trivial activity. "
  • Bigpatdc
"Lived here for 6 years and love the mild summers and winters. This military town is growing rapidly and for good reason. Great town!"
  • Hbdreessen
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 11 years. We have a very friendly, quiet neighborhood, with waterfront and water views unsurpassed by any other. "
  • Crystal S.
"The towns on island are 20-30 minutes, off island is typically 45-60 minutes unless you are going to Everett or Seattle. "
  • Brittneyblanton1994
"Dogs and any animal are welcome to Washington Washington is a friendly place for pets of all sorts and there all friendly "
  • Brittneyblanton1994
"Great parks Tons of stores Things to see and places to go Plus amusement parks come April and July "
  • John C
"Neighbors are walking or running there dogs everyday. Very quiet clean neighborhood. Close to public beach."
  • Razkel
"The environment is pretty friendly and safe. Most of the people who live here are military and retirees. There's not much on the island, but there's a lot of outdoors activities. "
  • Guy H.

  • Mylifeanew7
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for ten years. It is really close to all convenient stores, and to the town. "
  • Guy H.
"The only transportation that goes to where I need to be is my car. the free bus service while it is useful it doesn’t go where I need to go."
  • Guy H.
"We have good neighbors who have similar attitudes about being a neighbor as ourselves. Nice quiet location with a country like sites but only a few minutes from the post office and supermarkets."

"Downtown has fairs, carnivals and events all year around. In July Oak harbor host boat racing in the Harbor. Christmas is fun the sewer treatment plant they put down town on the beach has Christmas lights on the crane. Most of the junkie homeless folk don’t attend the events and wait till latter to come out. "
