9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers at Murwood are phenomenal. They are exactly how you hope educators to be - engaged, caring, bright and wonderful with the kids. While the teachers are top notch, the district is the bottom of the barrel. They are poorly organized and create unnecessarily barriers to education. District policies are written without regard for parents or students. They completely disregard data and research related to education. It is unfortunate given the resources available (both financially and in the wonderful teachers) to the district that it is lead by individuals who oppose any efforts to ensure education is available to the children. By way of example, on Friday, April 19, 2024 they informed parents they needed to appear, in person, the next week on Monday (4/20), Tuesday (4/21), or Wednesday (4/22) to prove they reside in the district. Another example is that while they are mandated to include parent input if a child has an IEP, they will completely disregard parental concerns. They will, of course, check the box and say, "I heard what you said," and then impose district policies written without regard to the student. The actions show that the input was heard, and ignored. The problems with the administration create a cloud over the wonderful teachers on the ground level. If you have the option, avoid this district until the voters are able to replace the board with individuals who are more interested in the students.Parent Review2y ago13 Reviews - Walnut Creek Intermediate School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSadly, I went to the school and when I went to the school, it was not how it currently is. They fired the most amazing teacher to ever step foot on the campus a couple years ago and I knew I shouldn’t send my daughter there when that happened. But I sent her anyway hoping for a good experience. The principal is woke spineless solace and so is a superintendent. They have chosen to put children in danger by supporting protest against ice and allowing these children to leave the school campus even though it is breaking a Supreme Court law, the principal blamed the superintendent and the superintendent blamed the principal there is no responsibility or acknowledgment of wrongdoing here I have not been called back emailed back or responded to no questions of mine wherever answered, and they both were completely dumbfounded by my inquires of safety. The teachers have no control over the students and my daughter has let me know that multiple times the teachers have to call in the principal and vice principal to have control over their kids. Don’t you think that means that these teachers are not equipped to work with children? It’s been an awful experience and we’re not even done with the first year. My daughter will be finishing this year out and then leaving for a private school. There is no way I’m putting my child in harms way for another year.Parent Review2mo ago32 Reviews - Las Lomas High School

"My commute to work is super quick because I live close, but gets very congested during high traffic times like morning rush and after rush hour. Weekends get busy as well."

"Lots of people walk their dogs in neighborhoods. A handful of nice dog parks. Handful of open spaces with specific areas you can let your dog off leash. Unfortunately not everyone respects this rule so I’ve seen awful situations where some dogs are on leash and some are not. The dogs on leash are threatened because they’re leashed and bad situations arise. Also, many people don’t clean up after their dogs. Disrespectful and entitled people exist. This area is not immune to that. "

"Sidewalks are inconsistent and people drive fast, so walking your dog around the neighborhood is not safe."

"It’s close to downtown, yet has a rural feel. The roads are dark and it has intermittent sidewalks and a lot to walk to. It has a high walk score, but is not that safe for pedestrians "

"Heather farm park playground is just perfect for kids small and big. There is a pond there, wonderful Rose Garden, beautiful nature. "

"Great schools but walkability is questionable with narrow or no sidewalks in the hilly area of Overlook."

"There are annual events in the Heather Farms Park area that are open to the public and often well attended."

"People drive fast and don’t care about pedestrians. There are intermittent sidewalks. It’s also really dark and there is inadequate lighting on the streets. It’s very unsafe for pedestrians. This is an anti-pedestrian city, despite having many places walkable."

"It’s chill. Peaceful. But lots of transient traffic. So don’t keep anything in your car, and life will be good. No violent crime, no need to fear getting robbed, just homeless off Bart breaking into cars"

Neighborhood is close to BART and freeway. Great trauma center nearby at John Muir Hospital. COPA indoor soccer training center is close and amazing for kids and adult leagues.
