Unless you have an older sibling or a parent who really knows the system. Kids have no idea how to prepare for college or life after school whatsoever. Kids of immigrants have no clue, reaching out to the consular is useless because they rarely answer, and never in a timely manner. I have some social issues, and most of the time I am never helped. Usually they just say I need a therapist and send me on my way. If your child is okay with councilors not caring and grades plummeting because teachers don’t care about putting in your grade, then send em on in. I was called into the office once and had a panic attack because I didn’t know why I was there. No one cared, no one even looked in my direction. Disappointing.
