Covina High School is a great school that offers many pathways of study within one school and over 20+ AP courses. I compared it to several schools within the district before sending my kids to Covina High and the ECP, Aviation, Avid, Health, and Engineering programs are incredible. It was a perfect fit for my daughter who wants to be a veterinarian and my second child wants to be an engineer. The staff and teachers are very involved and positive towards students and families. The band program is one of the best in Covina Valley district, and the school is going through some major renovations and improvements throughout the campus. The honors program has a great teaching staff and you can see the pride students and staff have at games and events.

This school has changed tremendously. I remember when my daughter attended this school a few years back. They had so many PTA moms and volunteers helping out. I noticed that their kids were favored over the other kid(s). They would receive special awards at the end of each school year (I'm not sure if their kids really earned it---I hope they did).This time around with my son...I noticed that there are actual teacher aides/assistants, not moms. I like that better...gives you a peace of mind. I feel the teacher is more engage than before. My daughter was never given a book to read during her elementary school years there. My son now brings a book from school everyday to read and has to turn in the next day. I see better learning materials and teaching techniques.There is also a fence around the school now. It's locked during school hours and visitors must go through the office first. I like the new process and drills that they periodically have.I hope they remain like this.

As a parent I can honestly say Traweek has been a great school for my children. The majority of teachers are very caring and go out of their way to help kids succeed at Traweek. On the other hand Traweek Middle school has gone through many challenges, and changes in staff and administration and I think that has affected the overall rating and moral of the school going from a 8 to what it currently is. As a parent I must admit that most teachers are great, and students are positive and respectful of each other but it doesn't help to see a revolving door of both principles and administration. The school offers many great programs like band, e-sports, clubs, sports, tutoring after school, wellness center, and the vice principle is very involved in day today activities. Unfortunately the new principle left the beginning of the school year and it would of been great to see the vice principle step into that roll since he is such a positive part of the school. But we now have a temporary principle, and she is great, we see her on campus and getting to know students and parents. I hope that she is the solution and stays with Traweek, so the school can spring back up. I also hope the school doesn't lose anymore long term teachers.
