I am deeply concerned about the lack of accountability regarding student behavior in the lower grades. In my observation, there is a troubling inconsistency in how the school defines 'citizenship.' It is disheartening to see students who use profanity and display aggressive gestures or physically push others still being recognized with school honors.When a school’s environment prioritizes academic metrics over basic character standards and safety, it sends the wrong message to young children. Profanity and physical aggression should be addressed with clear consequences, not overlooked. I hope the administration takes student conduct and social-emotional safety more seriously to ensure a truly respectful environment for all children.

while Glen A. Wilson has a reputation for strong academics, the actual student experience can feel very different on the inside. My main concerns revolve around the following. The academic culture can feel overly competitive to the point of being stressful. There seems to be a heavy focus on test scores rather than overall student well-being or a balanced lifestyle. Some of the older buildings and common areas feel like they’ve been overlooked for maintenance. Compared to other schools in the district, the infrastructure feels outdated. Getting clear answers from the administration regarding scheduling or student services can be a slow and frustrating process. It often feels like you have to advocate very hard just to get basic information.If you aren't a top-tier athlete or a straight-A student, it’s easy to feel like you’re just a number here. There needs to be more support for the "average" student and a better focus on the school's physical environment.

With all honesty, the school academics don't make up for the lack of attention payed to students being bullied. Not only are students not adequately disciplined when it matters but they focus on upholding the most ridiculous policies. A student will be sent home with rips on their jeans before a student gets reprimanded for being a bully. We've dealt with this nonsense for years and are considering homeschooling. Other parents have opted the same, not sure where you can get a copy of these statistics from the past 2 years but you'll see an increase of students being pulled out from this school in particular. I do not feel my child is safe here and as messed up as it may seem I would not be surprised to hear of a school shooting occuring at this campus due to the negligence of psychological/mental health of the students at this school. Last school year(22/23) there were 2 notices about such threats without much information being provided further than that. Also the attention the KDIP program receives vs the English classes is ridiculous. English classes are behind compared to KDIP, how are the children supposed to reach their full potential if they're not being pushed to explore that?
