School fights every other day, inside and outdoors. School threats are more common than you think, and the school doesn’t bother teaching students what to do in those emergency situations. Supportive and caring teachers aren't guaranteed. I’ve met really sweet and accommodating teachers, as well as uncaring teachers that won’t accommodate for your child at all. Staff members can bully your child and get away with it. School is quick to defend their staff rather than your child. Receiving support from administration is extremely frustrating and likely to not even be received at all. Custodians, Health center, and the Officers are the only workers you won’t have to worry about, they care about the students. School supplies and School events are relatively pricey AND extremely uncoordinated. Campus is relatively big and has a litter problem, wild animals can be found inside the gates. There is an okay variety of classes your child can take, AP and honor classes for almost every subject. If you send your child here I suggest you wish for great teachers and an awesome counselor, because most counselors won’t help if you request a teacher swap.

This school is great! The teachers are wonderful, they really care about their students and try very hard to create a happy environment. Both the principal and vice principal are engaging and actively participating in the kids and families. This is one of the best schools in the area for students with IEPs and/or special needs. They do not pull the kids from class constantly like some other schools do nor do they have a negative reinforcement approach. I highly recommend this school!

i dont like this school at all. let me just say, it is horrible. for one, the environment. there are fights basically every day, and on the last day of our second trimester, there were 7+ fights that day. also, there are just many bullies and people who harass others, both in plain sight, but rarely anything is done. another is the fact that you dont get the electives you choose. theyre switching this up next year but i suspect itll be the same. for one, you have two electives. although that makes class shorter, it means that there are more unwanted electives you can have. and in my year, when i chose my electives i was excited. but then i looked at my schedule, and i got none of the electives. they say they want you to venture into new paths but that is just absolutely stupid. i want the electives i chose, not the ones you chose for me. and they let you choose backups just in case your main choices are full, yet i didnt get my backup choices. last but not least is the fact that the teachers can seem condescending or passive aggresive. they can also pressure you into stuff. im not gonna name anyone but when choosing my 8th grade electives, i felt like my teacher pressured me into choosing a class i didnt want as it would stress me out. dont get me wrong, there are some great ones (shout out mr. mckelvey, mr. lawrence, mr. best you guys are cool) but still man there are some that are not as good. there are so many more problems i have, like the rotating schedule, their ignorance to the fact that they are part of the reason our test scores are low, all their lies (just in general), but i am half asleep writing this so thats all i'll say.
