Quintessential highly sought after 'Eichler-like' (but larger) custom two story mid-century dream home in highly desirable Lynn Ranch located near the coveted 1960's Eichler tract, light, bright and airy with incredible indoor-outdoor flow that feels like a mountain retreat on a captivating 1/2 acre lot with commanding views over the Conejo Valley. Very few mid-century homes exist in Lynn Ranch in such original condition. This unique property is an idyllic retreat located at the top of a quiet picturesque cul-de-sac above the Lynnmere Trailhead backing to open space with hiking trails, viewing vistas and bridle trails throughout the neighborhood. This paradise was featured in Sunset Magazine in the mid-sixties. The rear garden feels like a park with amazing views from the covered viewing deck with mature pines and specimen agaves and succulents. Plenty of room to add an ADU and pool/jacuzzi. Backing to open space makes the property appear even larger. All of the mature pines in the rear garden are regularly "tree-scaped" for beauty. The property is next to the entrance to one of the best hiking trails in the Conejo Valley with 360 degree panoramic views. Amazing sunsets and twinkling lights abound at night from all rooms in the house. New drought tolerant landscape in the rear and front of the property enhances the natural feel of the grounds in keeping with the beautiful natural surroundings. Entire exterior of the home was re-painted in 2022 with top of the line paint in mid-century appropriate colors. New Lennox heating/air conditioning unit added in 2021 heats and cools like a dream! New hot water heater and Automatic Earthquake Shut-Off Valve installed in 2021. Period-appropriate new double-paned UV-rated custom sliding glass doors and windows on the first floor added in 2017. New top-grade Kitchen-Aide Double Convection Oven and Dishwasher added in 2021. New roof completed in 2022. The property was recently tented for treatment of termites. This special home has been lovingly maintained and consistently updated with period-appropriate improvements and a focus on preserving the wonderful mid-century style and feel of the home. Mid-Century purists will love this home! Lovely white original (like new) terrazzo floors in many areas on the first floor, beautiful post and beam natural wood ceilings throughout and souring 12 foot ceilings and original aggregate hearth in the Living Room. Feels like a mid-century 'cabin the sky'!
Kitchen retains original wood cabinetry and stainless steel hardware with new stainless appliances. New period appropriate fixture in breakfast room and a George Nelson saucer light in the dining room. Updated bar is perfect for entertaining. New wood pergola in the rear/side garden accessible from sliding glass doors in the living room allows for sun-protection while enjoying the commanding valley views. Amazing views from all rooms including remodeled second floor viewing balcony with new code compliant iron railing which provides an updated contemporary flair to the home in keeping with the original design intent. All rooms in this home except one bedroom and three bathrooms are situated on the front of the house to take advantage of the amazing views over the Valley! Two of the three upstairs bedrooms have sliding glass door access to the refreshed viewing balcony. Top of the line air conditioning systems for each floor of the home controlled by separate zones per floor. This home was custom built in 1966 by the Director of Rockwell International Science Center (located in Lynn Ranch), and has had only four owners. Large driveway with parking for at least six cars. This property is conveniently located close to shopping, restaurants, amenities, hospital, medical offices, beautiful horse and hiking trails, Cal Lutheran University and award-winning schools. Freeway close and LA not far, Malibu just over the canyon!

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love Madrona! My kids are in K and 2nd and have had amazing teachers every year! The principal is great and is focused on adding amazing programs and facilities to our campus. We just revamped our science lab and have a dedicated science teacher. We have a new dance studio and the kids LOVE their dance classes! Our art teacher is amazing and teaches things I didn’t learn until college. I love the inclusion of families from different backgrounds into our community. I also love that my kids get to engage with students with different abilities. Madrona is such a magical school community!Parent Review1mo ago - Redwood Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI toured other schools in the area looking for the best academics and Thousand Oaks High School stood out so we school choiced our daughter here. The two programs that stand out are Ethos, if she wants to be an entrepreneur, and The Center, which is only for the brightest of the bright. She is probably going to apply to The Center since she is an honors student and it seems to offer so many opportunities for help with college applications. So far, TO has been great. It has only been a few weeks into school but her teachers are excellent and communication from the principal through the weekly Green Sheet have been so helpful. It's a great school with so much to offer. We are very happy with our choice of schools.Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 1430 Camino Magenta.
