3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve been in this district my whole entire education career. First and foremost, I’d like to bring up the topic of financial issues. In the recent years, I’ve noticed that this school is struggling with keeping up with their students and making sure that everything is up to date. Last year, they cut many staff members and there’s been a loss of custodians. Classes are getting cramped and there’s barely enough supplies to sustain a classroom. The teachers really try their best to put on a smile and do the best they can do to get things continuing. The whole school is crumbling apart but everyone is barely holding on to what’s left. This year, the school has gotten a lot stricter with their rules and enforcing multiple policies and rules like their recent bathroom and “no cell from bell to bell” Next of all, what I also noticed is the students and scholars there. What I love about Foster is the connects between each other and how everyone knows everyone else so from what I can see: Everyone is too tired to care. Yes, there’s scholars here and there giving their best shot; “Locking in” and actually focusing. Though, there’s this bad energy that surrounds this whole community and school. It has infected the staff, teachers, students, and everyone associated with Foster. Nobody has the passion or energy anymore and there’s nobody here that is able to give a us a “wake-up” call and get us to care any more. It’s sad but it’s unfortunately true. I hope one day things do get better, but I don’t see that happening any time soon. Nobody cares anymore and that truth hurts.Student Review1y ago11 Reviews - Showalter Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really like this school, I honestly, don’t get the bad reviews. I was a current student at the school until some days ago that I moved states and had to change school. The teachers are very supportive and they do their best to help you (most of them of course not all of them, the best teachers are: Mr. Napier, Mr. Chean, Ms. Paulsen, Ms. Sanchez, Ms. Lewis, Ms. Norman, Ms. Whooley, Mr. Forsyth, Ms. Wohl, Ms. Cieslikowski, Ms. Allen Lindsey, and Ms. Zhong, they were helpful and encouraging, they helped with my studies and helped me become a better student and person. The staff is pretty nice, most of the staff are the nicest person you could meet. (Some of them are Mr. Kenny, Ms. Flack, Ms. Cash, Mr. Gregg, Ms. Folkins, and Mr. Christopher ( the principal) ). Most of the teachers really care about homework and some not that much, they can give you projects long term, or short term, they interact a lot with the parents, if your students is absent to at least one period they call you and tell you, they give them lunch detentions for honest reasons and I really like that, also they have a lot of programs that can help you. They also do help with homework after school, they have clubs, sports, and they can offer you clothes, food help, and more, they also invite you to programs outside school that can help you. The students are nice, there are no that much fights, I can confidently say that they can last up to 2 months with no fights, and the staff are very quickly (if it’s nearby school). In conclusion I really liked this school and I would definitely recommend it, if your kid is failing it’s because they put no effort, the teachers give a lot of time to turn in assignments and even after the due date is passed most of the projects they grade them. (PS: If you are one of the teachers or staff that I mentioned I ADORE YOU, KEEP IT UPPPP!)Student Review1y ago13 Reviews - Tukwila Elementary School

"The sidewalks are narrow. There’s a lot of street parking so it could be difficult to walk your dog. There’s tons of parks in the area and lakes. Gives dogs a lot of space to run around and enjoy themselves. "

"There are a lot of different types of dogs in this neighborhood. If you aren’t used to dogs pulling, you might have to get used to it."

"I have public transportation within 3 blocks or less for buses and light rail. light rail to downtown, buses to downtown, Burien, Federal Way, Des Moines, Kent, and West Seattle. Buses and light rail ate pretty accurate and true to there schedule. Buses get a little crowded."

"It’s close to the airport. If you can afford living in a nicer area, do it. You can hear gun shots at night and has too many hills. Good luck trying to drive with a rear wheel drive car in the rain uphill and turning."

"Don’t live here unless you have no other choice. People will steal your mail and key your car. Not as bad as Seattle though."

"Haven't lived here long but it appears to be a nice neighborhood. The whole problem for me is that I'm too far from my school. If it wasn't for that I would have no problem staying here. Everything you need is close by whether it's grocery stores, gyms, restaurants, shopping malls freeway access etc. perfect location. Also extremely close to the airport and light rail station. Airport is a 5 min drive from my house which is really convenient. But my school is in the South Lake Union area so I'm trying to get as close to there as i can."
