About this House

This gorgeous, just updated, 3-bedroom owner's unit is one of the historic 1920s "Valley of the Moon Cottages." It has all-new 2021 appliances and finishes in the kitchen, bathroom, floors, and washer/dryer. It feels like a brand new home, but with historic touches like wainscoting, a hand-carved front door, and being surrounded by old-growth trees.

This building is featured in a local history book called "The Springs: Resort Towns of Sonoma" and is tucked away on a peaceful, quiet residential street in the Boyes Springs neighborhood. Although it's very quiet, it's just a few blocks from the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and El Molino Central! It's also just a couple of blocks from shopping, bus lines, and the natural beauty of the Sonoma Creek and major parks. Nice neighbors, too! This is a real community.

Please note that although this ground-floor apartment is the largest one on the property, it's still less than 1,000 square feet, and it is one of four units in this building. This is not a single family home. It has a large living/dining room with open kitchen, 3 small bedrooms, an office/bonus room, two closets, and it is the only apartment with its own in-unit laundry on the property. It has A/C. And it has thoughtful details like a fridge with chilled ice-water/ice and a dishwasher.

You'll love the private backyard with a white picket fence that's ready for you to landscape and organic garden, plus you can enjoy the large courtyard that is shared with the other thirteen cottages and apartments, where there are plans by other tenants to do raised-bed organic gardening.

We're looking for quiet, friendly, pleasant, non-smoking tenants who get along well with neighbors and follow house rules, including quiet hours from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Please tell us about everyone who will be moving in, why this is a great fit for you, and fill out the tenant application, otherwise we will probably not respond to your inquiry. We are especially looking for tenants who love to garden and are looking for a long-term home. Thank you!

One-year lease at $2,650/mo. Refundable security deposit is $5,300. Private parking directly in front of your home. Owner pays for water and sewer. Well-behaved and quiet dogs or cats considered.

This is a respectful, inclusive community, and as such we do not discriminate based on race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, country of origin, family status, age, or disability.

By the way, please protect yourself from scammers who scrape our photos and the wording of our descriptions. We do not rent our units without you coming in person to tour them and meet us first. And yes, to answer a common question, we do sometimes have other units for rent at the "Valley of the Moon Cottages" that are smaller and more affordable, but they are much smaller. Most are tiny home studios or 1-bedrooms between $1,750 and $2,150, depending on how updated they are. Thanks!

If you enjoy wine there’s lots of that here too. I used to enjoy this small town I was born and raised in. It is very crowded with tourists on the weekends, I suggest walking on the weekends. You’ll be glad you did!"
