I had three children who attended this school. They were all excellently prepared to attend college. One of my children thinks that some of the teachers at Eastern are much better teachers than those she has encountered in college. That child also thinks several of her high school classes were more challenging than the classes she took her first and second years in college. I came on to this site because I was reading elsewhere about a student in another school who had several things stolen from him during one school year. I think maybe one of my kids had one thing stolen at this school, and I'm unsure about that. Anyway, this was a nonissue for us. We felt like the students generally respect and leave each other alone. There are many honors and AP classes to take, and one of my children was able to get more than a year's worth of college credit through the AP courses she took. Yes, I wish there were smaller classes, more resources, and more teachers like the great teachers who are there, but nothing is perfect. I would say they should increase the number of counselors. The counselors are each responsible for too many people. Their workload is above the state average.

SME is a wonderful school. Principal Royal knows every kid by there name and loves every one of the kids that goes there. The faculty members are wonderful also. The school is not just a school it is a family. When my son went to SME he loved every minute of it and my youngest who goes there now loves it. She looks foward to going to school every day

Well qualified teachers, acadmically strong. Students are encouraged to participate in variety of events and games. My both sons went to this school, I am very satisfied with overall environment of the school.
