San Marcos schools are generally the worst. The only good school in town is Crockett. It's a great elementary school with great teachers and great students. As soon as my son finishes 5th grade at Crockett this year we are moving to New Braunfels. I highly recommend this school to other parents. But, after 5th grade get them out of San Marcos CISD!I'm a middle school teacher and mother of five. I know what I'm talking about.

This school is not the place to go if you just moved to San Marcos i would highly recommend homeschooling if best, This school that my son goes to is an hot mess, the teachers do not care whatsoever about the kids i’ve seen the admin just ignore the students as i was enrolling my child into this school, the teachers let the kids be on their phone most of the time and doesn’t re direct at all towards the kids if the phones are out, this school is a whole circus i must add that when my child experience his 1st School shooter threat, he was frightened and that really says something about this horrendous school. Moving here and enrolling my some was a big mistake and coming from a big city to a so called “town” was one of the biggest mistakes that i have ever made in my life. i feel sorry for the ones who go here. I see the Reviews online about this school and it is true.Horrible Teachers, Unprofessional counselors, Admin's,Nurse's , etc.I regret moving here w/ my child.

The bullying, which went mostly unnoticed, gave me the post-traumatic stress disorder from which I suffer today. I witnessed discrimination, not only against queer students, but against disabled students by the teachers. I loved a couple of my teachers, some of them were great. It isn't about one bad apple spoiling the bunch, the whole orchard was rotten from the roots.
