There is definitely a marked difference in how students are treated at this school. If you are not a whose who of the community your child will not receive the same treatment as those who are. Administrators first response for most disciplinary action is to suspend the student and put them in an alternative placement facility for the duration of their suspension. This program as stated in their handbook is used for students that have been deemed high risk of dropout. As to keep students that meet the criteria of being such disciplinary problems that they cannot be kept in the classroom, so are instaed are sent to alternative placement to keep them from dropping out. Why would this be a first offense disciplinary decision? School choice is a much better option if you are zoned for this highschool. If the 67 districts in the state of Florida, this is the only one that does not participate in PSAT or Advanced Placement courses. Now if that doesn’t tell you something!

This school discriminates against kids with disabilities unless the kid has a certain last name. Any time the school feels that a kid could cause them to become anything less than a A school they do everything they can to get them removed or overwhelm the parent into removing the child. All the staff are friends on and off the job and stick together. They over react in every situation because they’re not trained and doesn’t have the proper knowledge to deal with children and just have positions due to they’re last names. They are offended if you ask any questions pertaining to what happened in a incident, they just want you to sign and keep it moving. My son attended 12 days and was restrained by 3 adults, suspended 8 days and sent home early the other days and he’s 5 years old. The incompetence in this school shows who really needs the extra help.

This school has excellent leadership in their administration staff. Genuinely cares about the kids in this community.
