5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is a post covid student, and an out of state transplant. Class sizes are great, but individual attention to students is still lacking. The school does not seem to care if all students can spell on grade level as long as progress is shown, which is both positive and negative. Emotional wellbeing seems to have decent focus at RRES, at least with my child's experience. The staff provides tools and space for children to focus on regulating themselves. Kids are still kids and bullying is taking place on school grounds. RRES seems to handle it well sometimes... and poorly almost as often. RRES seems to stay on top of poor quality teachers, and weeds them out. So the staff quality is overall great. Opportunities for family involvement are lacking, especially with the district cost to be an approved volunteer, but that isn't necessarily the school's fault. The school does provide after school clubs for the students at zero cost which is great. The school and it's grounds are in great shape.Parent Review1y ago16 Reviews - Rio Rancho High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent my daughter here for her first year of high school and she was miserable the whole time. She was bullied and did not feel it was a safe environment for her to talk to counselors or teachers. She has an IEP and it was disregarded so she was put in standard classes that she felt were easy and boring. She only had two teachers that she felt were kind towards the students and both were relatively new (One being in their 3rd year and the other in their 1st). The focus is on sports and athletics and students that do not enjoy those types of things are disregarded. She witnessed many students vaping, smoking, and bullying other students. She often walked into the cafeteria bathrooms and saw other girls vaping inside. She will not be returning. Do not send your child here.Parent Review1mo ago15 Reviews - Rio Rancho Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am an alumni of RRMS and I can honestly say it was mediocre. There was an incident in 6th grade where some students pulled the fire alarm because they didn't want to take a test. The band and music programs are amazing and very welcoming. Highly recommend. However some teachers are unsupportive and do not give students the attention they need. However to the best of my knowledge some of the bad teachers have now retired. Most of the admin were fair and kind towards the students from what I could see. I cannot attest to the security guards but my friends had good experiences. However there was a teacher scare in 8th grade where he was watching p0rn in class. The student reported it and he was fired.Other Review1mo ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 1400 Barbara Loop SE.

"Moving to Rio Rancho with children, look for areas in the new home neighborhoods as they have sidewalks and parks. A lot of the neighborhoods north of Southern/Unser don’t have street lights. Rio Rancho is a great community, but it is still close enough to Albuquerque to have some crime."

"I have 2 dogs, a Doberman/Lab and a Chihuahua, we take them for walks and to the park and they love it. I see all kinds of people walking out with there dogs everyday. All of the houses have huge yards that have plenty of space for dogs to run around. Even though everybody has dogs, there isn’t much barking, it’s a nice pretty quiet neighborhood with both crazy and gentle dogs."
