What Locals Say about Northern Meadows

  • Hayden.palm
"One of the safest areas to be in New Mexico. Less homeless compared to surrounding cities. Feel safe on walks. Neighborhood events. Overall a good community. "
  • Greymaxperformance
"My commute to the middle of Albuquerque in the morning and evening varies between 45 minutes to an hour. "
  • Deborahlarsen46
"Nice Neighbors who are friendly and helpful. Introduced themselves when I first arrived. No potlucks so far. "
  • D.caudill
"Neighborhood needs a vehicle to access. It’s away from the center of town, no public transportation that I’m aware of."
  • Janeshia S.
"Far from everything , i drive about 35 min to work, anything else like grocery shopping gas stations they’re at least about 15 min away which is a pain "
  • Michaelmccracken
"there are a couple of dog parks and dog poop posts. there are big parks and plenty of space for all sizes of dogs."
  • Campbell.amaris
"I really enjoy living in this neighborhood because almost everyone in the neighborhood is very friendly. If you go to the park to watch your children play or watch your dog play at the dark parks you are almost always going to find somebody who you can consider a friend in the neighborhood :)"
  • Jamespaul.gutierrez
"the schools are safe but they need to work with the scholastic aspect a bit more and a lot more in the social part."
  • D. G.
"Many dog owners leave their dog off leash while at the park while others are there or arriving with their dogs also. Has caused fights in the past. "
  • Mollie M.
"My neighborhood is wonderful but we need a close grocery store. The closest store is 17 miles away. It would be great to have a gas station near too. There are a lot of people out her. Great for families and quiet. "
  • Mrmrsallen2317
"I see people walking their dogs on my street all the time. If they become regulars, I get to know the people and pet their dogs. It’s really a pet friendly neighborhood!"
  • Mrmrsallen2317
"I drive from place to place. There’s nothing really close by the neighborhood. Walmart is at least a 15 minute drive. There’s no bus stop to take any one any where so you would need a car to commute."
  • Lisarocksjewelry
"I feel safe in my home. There are lots of families. Great place to live. The only down side is, pizza doesn’t deliver here! Ha ha "
  • ohea2003
"dog in the neighborhood are noisy. but lots of parks for walking. there's the added risk of the mesa full of coyotes too. it all depends on the actual area"
  • Campbell a.
"Beautiful views of the Sandia mountains, much less crime compared to our neighboring city of ABQ. Much better schools as well. Depending on what part of Rio Rancho you're in, stores/restaurants may be a little distance away since the city is still fairly new. "
  • Simplenmgirl
"Large suburb area with a ton of people but all shopping is quite a distance away. We can leave our house and be in the Arroyo or out on the mesa on our dirt bikes within 2 minutes!"
  • Simplenmgirl
"I've been in the neighborhood for almost 14 years and am still happy here. We have a few issues, but 95% of the time it's great."
