Description
This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from April 12, 2024
Property price reduction reflects Owner encouraging offers in this mini estate style property. In pristine condition and ready for today's market. Old Dutch Colonial meets mid-century modern! The flavors of our history meld beautifully in this well-maintained estate property, beautifully situated on 14.5 acres. The original house, built in the stone house traditions of our Dutch Colonial Heritage, has been expanded with an addition added in 1970. Hardwood floors throughout, under all carpets, wonderful light, bright and sunny, a great basement with shop area all round out the wide-open living areas and kitchen. All closets are cedar lined, wood beams in the living room evoke that sense of history, and the craftsmanship of the unique hand made built-ins in the bedrooms make this truly a one of a kind property! Circular driveway provides access from two roads. A wonderful barn with two garage bays and two carports makes the potential for a great studio space, and a very private 25x50 inground pool with pool house provides a marvelous center of attention for the garden and landscaping, and a stunning site to absorb the magnificent sunsets! This property truly shines now that all furnishings and personal possessions have been removed. It is now possible to fully appreciate the size of rooms and magnificent hardwood flooring throughout. Drive has been graded and makes access to this property both visually and functionally more attractive. Property requires new Owner's imagination and personalized taste to make this property their very own.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can't say enough positive things about J Watson Bailey. When we first moved to the Hudson Valley we sent our daughter to a private school. After two years there we all decided that it was time to make a change to the public school system. Our daughter is a creative and we were wanting more than just an academic focus, but more of a well rounded experience. The first day she came home, she said, "Mom this was the right choice". The school has some of the most invested teachers I have come across, has ample extracurriculars (art, chorus, band, sports, theater, afterschool clubs, etc), the curriculum is exciting and our daughter is eager to learn, the principal is super engaged with the community, the student base is diverse, anytime we have a question or concern, we are answered immediately - I could go on and on. I am not sure why this school gets such low marks, but I wanted to be a positive voice for this school and our experience. So grateful we made the decision to send our daughter here, she is thriving. Thank you J Watson Bailey!Parent Review2mo ago - Kingston High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a 2017 graduate. He graduated in top ten of the graduating class. He was captain of crew team. All honors and AP. Started the robotics club and got accepted to almost every ivy and top tier college he applied to. My point? If your kid has been taught the correct priorities and wants to succeed he or she will get a top notch education. If they don’t have support from their parents and taught the importance of education they will end up doing drugs sitting on Broadway wall. Get involved in your own child’s curriculum. Teachers can’t do it all even teachers as devoted as those at KHS.Parent Review6y ago - Robert R Graves School
