6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYou may be good at sports, but if a family member or friend doesn't like you, these teachers won't give you a chance and will likely compare your child's physical appearance to other students. Most teachers don't love their profession. Students exhibit unsavory behavior. My son was bullied; he was hit, his backpack was stolen, and a student hit him with a hot ruler. They never knew how to notify me, but they called me when my son stood up for something that happened, all because he was related to a teacher. There was no formal graduation at the end of eighth grade like some other schools did. There were many principal changes, and only one police officer for the entire school. They need to improve in many areas.Parent Review11mo ago17 Reviews - Mendenhall Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWonderful school with awesome teachers! The Principal Dr. Prince is such a hands on educator. The school always has events for the kids and is all about the children. I am proud my daughter is a Mendenhall Longhorn. "Very safe, great sense of community, and people live here forever so you know your neighbors for years. People do not move frequently so you do not have to be concerned constantly of who you lives around you. People live at the same house 30 to 40 years, raised their own kids and never leave. Very quiet and very safe"

"Not sure. I do not have time to attend community events due to work and shift schedule. Occasionally there will be a concert in the park that is a nice change and offers the opportunity to get outside while enjoying the local musicians and later stroll down main street and have dinner at one of the many great dinning options that Plano offers."
